How have you changed as a cosplayer

I've gotten better at sewing, also I've given up my crossplay pipedreams.

Besides the obvious better at sewing, blah blah blah:

1. I make all my costumes functional now. As in, they can be machine-washed, the buttons do up properly, the pockets are real, and small things like that. Just to make my life easier and the costumes last longer.

2.I've been paying more attention to my appearance. I used to think 'as long as I'm presentable, it's okay' but now it's more like 'do I look nice going out the door?'

3. I've completely stopped using hemming tape. It is the one of the things I would never use on anything ever again.

4. Recently, I've decided that Applique > paint for most things.

5. I've learned the most people at cons are more than willing to have a casual conversation with a stranger, so I spontaneously talk to random congoers more often now. xD

Yet again on props, I am learning more abilities with different materials then just foam core.
I detail more than I usually do ^_^
And I started making tutorials for those who need them ^v^
