Hi Everyone,
I am hegx from England! ... I just found cosplay.com
I am in my last year at university doing fashion studies and in my spare time I like playing video games, so cosplay is a natural interest for me!
I am doing my dissertation (final massive essay thing) on cosplay so I'd love to speak to you all; find out about you, what you like, why you cosplay etc ... I hope you don't mind

i'd like to but a few problems ...
- literally no time to make anything!
- none of my friends share the same interests
- there is no opportunity to cosplay where i'm from

the only opportunity to cosplay would be for stuff like parties and fancy dress nights out, but cosplay is too good for that! it wouldn't be appreciated by "the masses" ... they wouldn't understand it!
i would really love to meet up with people and be in a situation where i could cosplay and not have to explain myself to people, cus they would just understand you know?

... i guess i come across as a bit of a fake now?

your not a fake for expressing what you want^^ you should try just going to any con in your area...even if none of your friends go u can make some there...usually everyone is very nice^^

hegx welcome to cosplay.com ^_^ dissertation on cosplay, that sounds like a lot of work. its only been yesterday since i've been thinking about cosplay. it only comes to mind in phases, since i started sewing again i figure cosplay is still intersting.

sounds like you want to cosplay to be happy, someway some how you need to make time to cosplay inbetween fashion studies

not sure what i will do exactly, despite being a fashionista i hate girly and silly frilly things, so its gotta be someone powerful n cool ... maybe paine from ff x-2 (except i have longish black hair that would not style like hers!) lol ^ ^ i'll think of something xx

Welcome fellow Brit. As to opportunities for Cosplay, the UK has around 6 major Cons a year where you can Cosplay\ meet others cosplayers. Not to mention the numerous get-together that every City seems to have.

For a dissertation it might be useful to be Cosplayer, even for a day ^_-
