why can users NOT place pictures in their posts? it woudl be FAR easier to see pics int he threads.

BBC codes work fine, let us use them.

Is there a limit to the number of photos?

I feel pretty pathetic for this, but I don't know how to get my profile pic up. I have pictures uploaded but I'm not getting how to post one as my profile pic. Is is because they're non-cosplay?

Your profile picture must be 200x200 in order for it to work. Use paint or something to size it down.

Interesting factoid that I just learned: it was originally disabled a long, long, long time ago to encourage users to use the new (at the time) photo galleries to upload photos, instead of embedding them in posts. However, it was kept disabled due to abuse. We have turned the images back on in a few forums as an experiment, and it is much less abused now. We will most likely expand use of images in all forums again.

Will the site be improving on this matter, so that it will be easier for quite a few of us to be able to upload an Icon picture? It has been very discouraging trying many methods to upload a 200X200 picture and have no result.

I just tested the icon uploader and had no problem. (Both as a moderator and as a regular account.) Is it that you cannot upload one at all, or you can't see the photo you just uploaded?

It's very common for the icon not to show up if you don't clear your cache. You can do this by pressing ctrl+F5.

The little purple flag next to a character name means that a costume has 5 or more photos associated with it.
The country photo next to the username is the one that indicates where the user is from.

Hi I just recently had my thread close about asking people their thoughts about cosplay photography... I dont know why it was closed but the person who closed it said it was a violation of the rules. I read over the rules and I am certainly not trying to solicit or do a survey, I am simply wanting to hear peoples opinions on the matter so that I can get a better perspective on cosplay photography for a class I am studying in.

icevalkyrie7, we do not allow threads regarding school papers. They are very, VERY common, and at one point were taking over the threads. They tend to ask questions that have already been answered; a little forum searching should give you mountains of opinions for your research. If you feel your subject hasn't been covered and would like to repost your poll, feel free to do so and leave the "paper" part out.
