DizzyLizzy review!

Name: DizzyLizzy

Website: http://lizzy.agentsofcosplay.com/

Commissioned: A wig for Lilith (The Siren) from “Borderlands” game

Picture Links: http://lizzy.agentsofcosplay.com/gal..._7180.JPG.html

Timeline: She accepted my commission, received my first payment and started work on the wig (ordering and whatnot) on January 21, 2010. I received the wig in the mail on March 9, 2010. So less than 3 months. (More like 2 months.) And, from the start, I knew I was cutting it close, time-wise. Now that I know how it works (as this was my first commission), I’d have loved to have given her more time just for her own relaxation. She works so hard on everything AND she’s in school AND works! She’s just amazing. Simply amazing.

My Experience: Not a single “con.”
I read this review thread first and decided on her because of her “grades.” I was delighted when she accepted my commission and told me up front that she hadn’t dyed a wig in awhile, which I thought was super honest and awesome of her. She’d done it, but hadn’t needed to in some time, and my wig required some gradient colors. She was more than willing to give it a go, though, and that made me happy.

Every step of the way, Lizzy kept me informed and was on top of everything. Even a pause in shipping because of snow couldn’t stop her! School didn’t stop her! Work didn’t stop her! She was always giving me updates and even let me pick the colors and style for my wig. …she listened to my input and understood what I wanted instantly.

From the start, I sent her 3 or 4 pictures and, by the time it was complete, she had it looking EXACTLY like what I had sent her. When it got to me, it had a little note and a pack of homemade bath salts, which is like her signature and it makes such a friendly touch.

She is amazing at what she does and she’s super friendly about everything. Nothing stands in her way and, if anything, she works TOO hard! If ever I need any other wig or even a costume bit, I’m asking her to do it first. She will be my first choice from now on, without a doubt.

Final Grade: A++…INFINITY!

Timeline (how long your order took to process)

I believ I contacted her at the end of January. I didnt have a paycheck until the 19th, so I emailed her then and she sent them ^.^

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.
I paid for the wings on Feb 19th. I got them early March. Maybe like the 1st or second I think.
They were packed ever so nicely in the box with aloot ALOT of extra feathers like she had said she would.

I pmd her that day to ask her how she attached the feathers and recieved a speedy response!

I've never made wings before so she did a great job!

Cons: None as far as I know.

Character commissioned and series/video game: Ven's Fresh Breeze Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.

Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item: http://img202.imageshack.us/i/freshbreeze.jpg/

Timeline: I'd say the whole process took a little over a month.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: This was my first commission from an independent seller so I was a teeny bit wary. Giving him the specifics and paying via Paypal; all my fears really just vanished. He was really nice and referred me to his blog where production shots of the keyblade where updated throughout the time that he was working on it. And I must say that in comparison to the pictures I sent him, it looks pretty darn close.

Final Grade: A+++ Would definitely recommend him to cosplayers looking to buy weapons (specifically Keyblades).

Timeline (how long your order took to process): About 2.5 months. However, I contacted her at the end of December and told her that she had until April to complete it.
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: This was the first commission I've ever requested and it had gone beyond my expectations. Jessica was very professional. She kept in contact and commissioned the scarf at such a great price. The quality of her work is awesome. I highly recommend her and would not hesitate to commission her for any future costumes.

Talking Rhapsody Design are great

Jennifer Maquire

Commission: Luka Megurine from Vocaloid 2
- Vest, Skirt, emblem brooch, 2 arm cuffs, long glove band, belt and mini band.

Cosplay Picture: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?pr...d=173857798913

Time: pretty fast, approx a month?

They were wonderful, friendly people and the plus bonus is that they truly understand cosplay and what's it like in the customer's shoes. Jennifer and Matt went out of their way to pick out the perfect fabrics and recommended to me (i learn about Black Satin and Gold shuntang from them ) Then the fun chats, and progress photos help ensure how the outfit will turn out. They even provided me with extra fixing hooks, buttons and the cloth coat-bag <3

There was slight technical difficulties at times but minor accidents like slight collar ruffling. But its understandable, since I wasn't a local person. Despite client and customer living in different countries, they succeeded in bringing absolute comfort and skillful measurements.

I love most was the amazing effect on Luka's emblem, made of metal and jewel casting. Now this is what i call professional makers of craft.

Character commissioned & series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.): Touka Kureha from Shining Tears X Wind (Ordered everything except the boots, ordered the straps above the boots, and the weapon, bow.)

Timeline (how long your order took to process): Ordered my costume January 23, 2010 & needed it to be completed by mid-March. (Was completed on time and shipped to me, I received my costume a week and a half before the convention)
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments:
Pros: JD was pleasure to work with. He responded to my PM for a quote in the same day. He also kept great communication with me and promptly responded to all of my emails/PMs. He made sure to answer and address any of my questions or concerns. And his price was definitely reasonable and it included shipping. I had chosen him because of his obvious attention to detail, as seen in his photobucket gallery. I had concerns that my costume wouldn’t come out as I expected because I have high standards (slightly OCD). But upon receiving my costume, I came to find out that it exceeded my standards and I am very pleased with it. The stitching is tight and exact, the materials used breathe easily, it is made very accurate to the picture with no defects that I could find, and best of all it fits! The colors of the costume match the colors of the picture quite well. I received all of the items I requested at the same time in the same package (even the headband and the ties for the sleeves and the boots, which arent pictued). The costume was sent in a timely fashion and arrived a week and a half before the convention, which is what I had planned on. I will post an update after the convention to let everyone know how the costume held up.

Comments: I look forward to commissioning JD again. I had fun working with him and hope he stays around cosplay.com for a long time. If you have high standards and want a detailed outfit, JD is definitely the one to go to. JD’s payment policy is, a 50% deposit is paid upfront and the rest of the payment should be paid when the order is complete.

UPDATE: The costume held up great at the con. I'm definitely the kind of person who puts her costumes to the test with my wild moves and rampage on the Vendors' Hall. I had 6 people take my picture and complimented me on the costume (no one else knew who I was or what anime I was from!). It also held up great against the body/clothing tape i used to help keep the strapless top up. All in all, I am still very happy with my costume.

Final Grade: A +

Character commissioned & series/video game: Kazuki (di[e]ce) ~ jacket, cape, pants, shirt and tie

Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item: http://s567.photobucket.com/albums/s...t=DSCF7047.jpg
Timeline (how long your order took to process): 3 months

Pros: JD was very quick to respond to the initial commission request, meticulous in clarifying which pieces to make, and collected measurements quite professionally. The price I was quoted ($230) was very reasonable and included shipping. I didn't initially request the shirt and tie, he offered to throw them in at no additional cost. When I recieved pictures of the finished work ~ I asked for a small alteration to be made (based on a mistake in one of my own references). He provided it graciously without additional cost. The jacket and cape look wonderful and fit like a dream. The entire costume is gorgeous on the hanger.

Cons: JD was pretty hands off when it came to the work itself. I'm used to having regular updates (once every few weeks) from commissioners. Maybe I'm spoiled. But JD didn't provide any status updates at all until he was finished. When I pestered him about recieving an update he seemed to be really annoyed with me for rushing him. (I had paid for my whole costume up-front due to paypal problems, so I was pretty worried about this one from the get-go). To be fair, he did make good and eventually provided pictures of the finished goods.

The quality of some of the materials chosen could be higher. Snaps are small plastic and clasps are on the flimsy side and feel about to snap off at any moment. I think I'll end up replacing them all just to be safe. The pants look great on the hanger, but are unwearable without additional alternations as they're unlined and the white fabric used is completely see-through. The holes at the knees and sewn-in pockets make wearing tights or leggings underneath problematic ~ since the pockets still show through the front completely

If you're ordering something in white, be sure to specify that the pieces should be in a thicker fabric, lined or opt out of pockets (and wear leggings underneath).

There are small black stains on the cape shoulders and collar and there's one noticeable red stain on the clasp of the pants (it almost looks like marker). Marks used in construction have not been completely erased.

There is a placement accuracy problem on the insignia on the cape. According to the reference pictures (including the ones I sent), it should be on the side of the shoulder. On the finished cape, the insignia is on the back shoulder (very strange placement for a school badge and an obvious inaccuracy).

The shirt is quite nice... but none of the button holes are open! They're all sewn as if to give the illusion of holes... but no buttons will button ^^;;; (though I didn't actually pay for the shirt, so it isn't a huge deal).

Comments: aesthetically, JD is quite simply, awesome. The cut is perfect, the fit is fabulous, and the sillouette is as accurate as it could possibly be. His stuff LOOKS amazing. Just be aware that the materials used may not be the best quality you could ask for and that some pieces may require reworking before being useable, especially if you want them to hold up in the long term. JD also seems to take on a lot of projects at once, which might lead to slow responses, less communication, slightly inaccurate garments and unopened buttonholes ^^;;;

Even so, I'd like to work with him again. I think the quality of the useable pieces I did recieve (jacket and cape) outweighs the dissappointment of having to re-commission or deconstruct and repair the pants.

Final Grade: B+

First, I ordered my hat back in Sep of last year; it is going on seven months
Now and I still haven’t recived my Goblin hat from FF 11, when I ordered my hat I had a funny feeling this was going to a pain in the bum and I heard and read other peoples reviews but I didn’t get to see much of thoses reviews now, I took a chance and had to test the waters to see if they was fast but I was sadly tookin’ back by how they treat there commissioners, second they need to get there shite together and hire more people to do the work, I know they have put some ads up that there looking for people.
Ok so I ordered my hat in Sep of last year I thought it would only take four months or so, I got my order in before the deline around Sep 15, and after I got my money in I didn’t hear from them until the end of Sep stateing that they was almost done with my hat, I was happy to get it so fast and thought about asking them to do another commission for me, next month rolled around which was Oct no word from them nor nothing in the mail so I e-mailed them around the 15th of Oct and they came back saying that the hat wasn’t done yet and they needed to order something in the mail and would get it in a few days then they would send the hat off and give me a UPS number, so the next month rolled around which was Nov, I e-mailed them again and they came back stateing they was done with the hat and would send me a e-mail with the UPS number, that month went by and Dec rolled around I was fixing to e-mail them again but I got some stuff through the mail from them like cards and other stuff but no hat. I then e-mailed them again the next month which was Jan they stated they was done with the hat and would mail it off soon I got a UPS number and they told me to wait a few days before using the number I waited about five days before using it and finding out the number would not work, I e-mailed them again at the end of the month and asked what was up with the number it dfidn’t work, they came back stateing that they went to the craft store and found some cloth/fake leather that would look better then the cloth they used on the hat and I said ok happyly thinking that was nice of them but in the back of my mind I just wanted my hat , they added me on Twitter I thought that was nice. I skiped a month thinking they need time to remake my hat, now I e-mailed them in march of the 15th asking about my hat and I wanted to see some photo’s of the hat to see how far along they are. I since have e-mailed them through out the month of March with no word.
As someone stated on hear, do not commission theses people they are not worth the time nor money to spend on theses people so they can go out to cons and do other things.

Grade: A big fat "F".
