Hi, CC28-goers!

You haven't seen me the last couple of years, but I was at CC25 in St. Louis and am part of the St. Louis chapter of the ICG.

At Costume-Con 28, I'm planning on running the Mousequerade, a little event just for the fun of it taking place after bowling on Monday.

I'm not sure WHEN exactly it's going to take place, but it will happen. Sometime. Probably Monday night. Anyway, waiting for Henry or Jennifer to get back to me on that.

I just wanted to start this thread to let you know so that you can start making something for it.

The Mousequerade is a cute little contest where you make a costume for your stuffed animal (it doesn't have to be a mouse; I know some cows who plan to compete this year). We'll bring a tiny little stage and a boombox for appropriately epic music while your stuffed animal performs puppet-style for the audience.
We'll give some (edible) awards including a special one for following the spy theme.

So get on it, folks! I'll let you know WHEN it will be when I know.

The first Mouskerade (CC16) was done with costumes made entirely at the convention.

How to you spell it? Is it "Mousequerade", "Mousekerade", or "Mouskerade"? Probably doesn't matter too much, but I want to print the award certificates with the right spelling.

It's exactly like that!

You don't have to sign up early or anything. You come with your animal and its finished costume. Write down a little description to be read or say whatever you want. It's not a formal thing at all.

There's some disagreement on that topic .

All of the original paperwork from CC16 spelled it "Mousekerade" so I hold with that. But it really isn't that important, getting into a huge argument about the spelling lends a sense of gravitas that is mostly inappropriate for this particular event. Heck, calling it an "event" is too serious.

Maybe we should try to translate it to LOL-speak?

I think you'll really like this, Trixie! It's mostly just for fun & relaxing at the end of the con.

I like watching it myself since I never seem to have time or enough left-over materials to do anything with it. It's a very relaxing end to the convention and I enjoy it.

@ Von Drago- Translating it into LOL-speak could be fun.
