pros :
1.I love the wig, the color and the style, it exceeds my expectation.
2. i liked the flowers super glued on the wig as well, instead of being "sew" on it, like she has told me.
3. the color of the wig matches the dress very well.
4. there was the braid at the bottom of the wig which I like very much.


cons : nothing much I don't like here, except for being smelly from the spray she used. It's normal, because all spray smell. XD

comments : Nothing much to comment for the wig, I can't express how much I like the wig.

Final Grade : A- (emailed her multiple times, but she never replies.)

to akaisha : I could delete the comments and jus post the pictures I took, the story will still be the same. Late package, ugly bad stitches etc... I am sorry if you think I am being very bias. I emailed you, but you never replied, I have no other choice... you glued on the pearls without having it embroidered (and charge me for the cost of embroidering), you have bad stitches on the dress, stitches and threads are not ended properly.
Where is my leggings and instructions? I paid for the leggings.
Everytime you posted a reply to me in the forum, I sent you an email.. but you never reply me. You never respond to me anymore and how am I suppose to talk to you about what I don't like? I am jus commenting on what I felt and what I see from the dress you have commissioned for me.
I emailed you again (I am not very sure how many emails I have sent you), I hope to resolve this problem through email instead of public forums, but if you never reply me, I can jus leave the review jus like that...

and you were fast in replying my reviews of you in cosplay.com forum.. so what happened to emails?

Timeline: Officially ordered in February with a deadline of between April 10th and 12th. It arrived today, the 9th, a day early! So, about 3 months since I ordered it way before it was needed.

Experience-

Pros:
She's very sweet, and my overall experience with her was quite enjoyable. Since I was requesting such an off color, she made sure I knew that I could very possibly be getting a color not quite like I wanted. When I emailed for an update, she gave me a response the same day. The wig itself is quite pretty (it's very accurate), and I loved that she sent it to me on a wig head. I would definitely do business with her again~!

Cons: The only problem was that the wig ended up getting a little thin in the back, but she pointed it out to me when the images were sent, and even gave me a blue wig cap to help blend it. Otherwise, there was no problems whatsoever. :]

Other Comments: If you can't tell, I am very happy. :3

Final Grade: A!

Comments: Wow, it was a lot nicer than I thought it would be. Having heard some horror stories about China/Hong Kong costume sellers I wasn't too sure which way to go, but I'm glad I went with cocosilver. I mean, first of all, all the other Chihiro costumes I found on ebay, Rakuten, etc. were REALLY slim pickings-- coco's is by far the most elegant-looking I was able to find (some costumes by other vendors had more technically accurate features, like a rounded yoke in the back and the strip of green around the hips, but the tailoring and fabric quality looked like a cheap Halloween costume).

The outfit is 2 pieces, a long jacket and a skirt.

The skirt/flared sleeves are made of a soft kinda spandex-y deep blue satin. It's shiny, but not glaringly so, at least not under natural light. (It might be overly reflective with flash photos, but flash can make almost anything look bad.) The hems are finished with a rolled hem, opposed to being turned under and stitched over. The skirt has a 1" wide elastic waistband.

Now for the jacket: it's made of satin too, but a much much duller variety, more like bridal satin maybe? It almost feels like a poly suiting. It's fully lined with a pale green fabric, which is a nice touch. The gold tape is a metallic enamel/PVC and the leaf/flower designs were painted on with blue. There is an conceal zipper in the back.

As far as the fit goes, I ordered a standard XS size and it basically fits like a glove, though I've got to wear a bra with it to fill out the bust properly. The sleeves are a little long on me, but not to the point that it feels impractical. I can't really complain much since I did not specify custom sizes.

Final Grade: A
Really nice costume, not 100% accurate to the reference like my inner perfectionist would have liked, but I got exactly what was advertised and it's definitely the best out of the available selection, especially considering the low price and prompt shipping.

Describe your Experience: Absolutely phenomenal. I haven't commissioned since the one time way back in '05 or '06 when Rain Miko never came through so I was a little edgy about commissioning through anyone again. However, I don't have the space to really sew properly at the moment. I liked the looks of her other commissions and everyone in this thread had given her good reviews so I ran with it.
The price was kind of hefty I thought for a vest, shirt and fanny pack. I don't regret it though now that I have the costume in hand. Everything is finished beautifully. The vest is lined, all seams are finished and no stray threads anywhere. The shirt is even surged on the hems! The pockets in the vest are even really pockets and there's a zipper as well, which is a very nice detail touch. The fanny pack isn't done cheaply either and I really appreciate how she did the fastener on that, a buckle rather than just a snap or something else that could some undone easily.

Also I should take the moment to mention that I am plus sized. It was one of my concerns when commissioning because I am on the larger end of the spectrum and the one thing I have the hardest time with is finding things where the upper arms are comfortable on me. Since this is a vest and a top, I was especially nervous and included that measurement as well. She came through with flying colors on this and the top and vest not only fit very comfortably and allow me to move in ease, the top itself even hits me just right on the waist. So if you're a plus sized person, I really recommend her. I allowed for a few inches here and there in my measurements and that turned out just perfect.

I already have plans to go back to her next year for a couple of different costumes. :3

Timeline (how long your order took to process): I ordered it at the beginning of February and got it at the end of February, so it was very quick!!!

Pros: The wig is so beautiful!!! It's perfectly styled and looks exactly like Sakuras. It's also very soft and comfortable. Seriously, I wore it for two days in a row, and didn't get uncomfortable once!!!! I forgot I was wearing a wig most of the time! ^_^ I also kept getting compliments on how beautiful it was. And Carina was so amazing. She responded very quickly when I told her when I needed the wig, her prices are incredible and the shipping was very fast!!! I can't say enough about Carina or her work. I am already planning on buying my next two wigs from her!!!

Cons: The only thing is the packaging it was sent in. It was sent in an envelope-type thing with a string that wraps around two tabs. I thought it'd be more... secure. But that's not that big of a deal

Final Grade: A+

Describe your Experience: The wig is amazing! It's a heat resistant wig which makes it awesome to begin with. The fibers feel just like real hair and it photographs very well. Also it's thick so if you pull it back into a ponytail there is no mesh showing! I love it and will definately buy from them again!

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.: I first found this merchant browsing around DeviantArt and saw that she was making and selling pieces of a mermaid costume she had made for herself (tail, beaded bra, tiara, etc). I contacted her a couple weeks ago and received an almost immediate reply; she lives in the Netherlands, so there is a significant time difference. She was very pleasant to communicate with, even when I admittedly nerded out when I gave a backstory for the original character I wanted the tiara for (I felt the need to explain it so she would have a better idea of what I was looking for than just Ďmake thisí). She let me know when she received my payment, when she finished the tiara, and when she sent it out. I replied to let her know when I had gotten it (about 5 days from the postmark to the day I got it in my hands) and she messaged me back; it felt more like talking with a friend than just a seller. The tiara itself is admittedly a bit off (thereís a center part that makes the whole thing want to slide forward on my head, but thatís to be expected) and there is a fair amount of hot glue traces on the bands. Honestly, that doesnít bother me because once I put it on it looks great and unless someone took the tiara off my head the hot glue isnít visible at all. The beads and pearls are glued on as well as tied down so they have double protection from falling off. The only things I watch out for are the two strings of pearls that dangle as they do tense up once the bands are moved to fit my head.
Final Grade: A+. Jolien is such a sweet person and a joy to talk with regarding costuming and ďgeekingĒ out; she even suggested a couple of things I could include with my costume that I never even thought of! The tiara looks wonderful when itís worn, maybe not as impressive when itís just sitting on a table. I really do recommend her for her products.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: Steph was one of several commissioners I contacted about this cosplay and was the only one to actually reply. Her initial email was very detailed about what she would do for me and how much everything would be; she showed a great deal of integrity about basically copying a well-known lolita brand (which I didn’t know the outfit was until further research after the fact). Her devotion to the fashion and her knowledge of it made me confident to commission her. I sent the first payment in mid-December and waited until it got closer to my due date (April 5-10). Around late January/early-February I emailed her to ask how everything was going. She said she hadn’t started yet (which honestly made me nervous because I personally start on things waaaaay in advance to be sure I get done on time without driving myself insane), but she was telling me her ideas for how to do some parts and what she could use. I let a few more weeks go by. I emailed her again, this time in March, and didn’t hear back for almost a week; I was getting really nervous about that, but just as I was about to email her again she’d beaten me to it and said how far along she was (which was surprisingly far). After a few more email exchanges she said she was done and just needed to get it all in a box to ship. After she said she shipped it, I waited a day or two to ask about the tracking number she said she’d give me. I didn’t hear anything back at all. Finally, on the last day I gave her as my deadline (April 10) I received the box. Everything was neatly packed despite being many things in one relatively small box, along with handwritten care instructions. I jumped into it immediately to try it all on. I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything fit perfectly and was just the right length. One big concern I did have was if I’d be able to lift my arms without making the top ride up; I’m very happy to say that it didn’t and I can flail around all I want and not show any skin I don’t want to. The netting she warned me is especially delicate, although it shouldn’t come out. I just have to really watch myself when getting it on and off so I don’t mess it up. The skirt came to just the right length (another thing I was worried about as I didn’t want it to be short [I usually hate skirts of any kind] and not too long either as it would ruin the effect) and I especially love the little details she put on the bottom like the ruffle and the rose lace. Everything is super easy to put on and take off without too much assistance from anyone else. The main parts of the outfit are 100% durable cotton, so cleaning is pretty much a no-brainer, and the tulle and lacey parts she was sure to go into detail with on cleaning.
Final Grade: A. There were times when emails either went unanswered or took days to be replied to (even my final email praising her work and how happy I was with the finished product), but Steph was sure to include numerous pictures of the costume before expecting the final payment along with detailed emails about what she was doing, what I wanted on certain things, and what was left to complete. If she decides to start doing commissions again I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a lolita-esque cosplay.

Pro's - Gorgeous coloring, one of my favorite cosplay wigs I ever ordered. (This was purchased by me, and my friend is wearing it in the picture.) The fibers were fantastic and this wig has yet to tangle even the slightest. She even wore it for a night on the town and people completely believed it was her hair, and it didn't tangle AT ALL. Brilliant and beautiful! Plus the owners are extremely nice and get back to you almost within a 24 period, usually even quicker.
Con's - Color was SLIGHTLY off, but quiet honestly, it looked great still so I had no complaints.
Final Grade:
(A) This wig is great, we took a risk buying from a seller I didn't find much info on, and it was completely worth it.

As long as we're all communicating via public forum, on the CatNip/StHoly concern, I don't really see a problem with listing a seller response alongside the review. As long as everything is kept tasteful and professional and is just a presentation of facts rather than an exchange of flames, it sounds fair enough. I e-mailed her August 29. I heard back in 3 days, but she said she would love to make it and she had questions and therefore I did not receive a quote. I responded the same day and I never heard back from her. So I sent another e-mail after waiting a week. And then waiting 2 weeks. I got an extremely rude e-mail on October 17 from her husband, Chris telling me how busy she was this time of year (around Halloween.) and to send an e-mail after October 31st and to have more patience. (I still had no quote, mind you.) I waited 2 weeks after Halloween and sent the e-mail. No response. I waited 3 more weeks and sent another e-mail on 12/6. No response. I sent my last e-mail April 23 telling them that I was taking my business elsewhere. I never received a quote.
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.
Cons:
WORST customer service I have ever experienced with anyone, ever. Obviously the commissioner didn't care at all about the commission even after I was told she wanted to make it. They used the fact that I didn't need the costume immediately as an excuse to not respond to my e-mails at all. While I understand she got busy, I find it hard to believe that neither of them check their e-mail once a day or once every other day.
Pros: She has a pretty website and nice tutorials on dA which is why I went to her.
Final Grade: F-

It may just be my personal opinion, but I don't think you can give a rating based solely on the fact that you never received a quote.

The fact that she did start communication yet neglected to complete it is a bit troublesome, but I don't think it ranks on the same scale as, say, if you'd paid for an item and then never heard back from her.

But this is just my two cents. What's your ruling on this, Kanira?

While you have a valid opinion, I would just like to point out that isn't customer service a large part of maintaining a business? If a business owner does not have customers, they make no money. If the commissioner was unavailable to make the costume then she should have said that she was unavailable for the next several months or she would not be able to give me a quote for several months. I would have preferred to be acknowledged and politely turned away from the start instead of responding at first and then completely failing to do any follow-up. In the end it creates an unhappy customer and unhappy customers talk and tell friends about bad experiences which means the business owner starts to develop a bad reputation and in the end it makes for bad business.

While yes she failed to follow-up on her e-mails and it may seem troublesome at the start, things like that can also make customers speculate about what else that she may or may not have time or energy to do. Everything a commissioner does reflects on their business, which is why I don't think follow-up should be seen as less important as any other aspect of the commissioning process.

I'm not trying to flame or anything, I'm just supporting my opinion and my review. If this is deemed unnecessary to post or just plain bad for taking up space in a reviewer's thread, just tell me.

I've got to agree with Hee-Hee. While I can understand where you're coming from, KoriStarfire, the list's main purpose is to be used as a reference for people who wish to judge the quality of a commissioner's work foremost. The grades are meant to be a combination of customer service and final product and overall experience, and receiving a poor grade before money was ever exchanged or mentioned might give potential customers the wrong idea.
I've had countless instances where I've received one or two emails in response to a quote request and then sudden and perpetual silence, personally. Just a part of the package, and certainly more a loss to the commissioner than the customer enough as it is.

Also, thanks for the clarification, AkaneSaotome. The two listings have been combined.
