Any HK cosplayers out there?
This post is kinda a part 2 of "Anybody from HK?" which was posted by schiz. Was kinda bored recently so I just wanted to know if there was any HK cosplayers out there posting/lurking on cosplay.com. I saw that the HK forum section here looked almost dead, but we do have those rare occasions (like now). Anyways just here to say hi; I hope I wont be seeing the next post a few months later >.>

I'm Chinese and I'm in HK right now... all the HK people on Cosplay.com seem to be living in CANADA or the US = = I wanted to try a group cosplay in the AniCon (Summer 2010) in HK, but no luck
 Does anyone know when the convention starts? |

There was an event just last weekend in Kowloon Bay (11 April), the Rainbow Gala 5....it was a bunch of doujinshi/other artists selling their work and there were lots of cosplayers there!!!
 Not sure about upcoming events though, only know about the other major ones coming up in the summer. Although I'm a foreigner living in HK, I'm still really interested in trying cosplay again..! Has anyone seen foreigners cosplaying in hong kong before??  Just curious!! Would it be really strange? At the convention I didn't see any, but I didn't arrive until much later in the day when things were winding down..... ^^ |

I wanted to join a cosplay group as well, but I've been too busy lately with the public examinations. I also have a bit of a language barrier since you can kinda count me as a foreigner. @page of wands Like I said to X-Shion, I'm kinda counted as one of those foreigners due to my mixed background (Long story desu~), but so far, I havent see any foreigners cosplaying, aside from my friend. |

This year's Ani-Con website is up.
The Ani-Con will start on 30 July 2010 and end on 3 August 2010. Cosplayers (if judged to be sufficiently cosplaying) can get in for free. At the same time, there is a cosplay competition that cosplayers can sign up for beforehand. For details, see http://www.ani-com.hk/ |
