Wet suits weren't around during the time of rapture anyway. The diving suits themselves used a tight weave canvas that in itself was not waterproof. The sealing from the water was in the helmet itself. You could try looking at a home improvement store for a canvas drop cloth. It's cheap and will provide plenty of material. Use a body suit pattern. Hope that helped.

I wanted to share some new photos of the Big Sister project I got to work on earlier this year. This is the same costume that umbrellas and ghost0441 linked to earlier in the thread (thanks, guys!).
A lot of construction information for the fabric/leather parts (my role in the build) can be found on my website here: http://www.godsavethequeenfashions.c...oshock_2_.html Info about the beginning of the build can be found here: http://bigsisteriswatching.blogspot.com/ Additional in-progress photos can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nathan_awesome/ As a group, we were given 10 days to make this costume happen (I actually only had six for the sewing parts!). I was very thankful to have the opportunity to work with such dedicated people! Here is a full credit list: Nathan Sharratt - Production Head, Design Engineer, Project Manager, Fabricator, Video Model Chris Donio: Fabrication Lead, Lead Sculptor, Caster, Design Engineer Riki LeCotey : Sculptor, Mold Maker Cathy Jones : Seamstress, Leather Designer Duncan Shirah : MetalWork Danny Ashby : Fabricator Joe Hernandez : Cage Engineer, Fabricator Adam Foote: Fabricator Chris Lane : Fabrication Joe Pavich : Additional leather assistance Daniel Valdez : Lighting, Electronics Jenny Barclay, Danny Hong, Meredith Placko, Matt Lewis : Additional assistance Miracole Burns: Height reference model & Unused Corset Lindsey Lewis: Photo Model Thanks for looking!

A splicer costume is fairly easy to make. Some nice clothes, covered in blood, a masquerade mask, and a weapon.
You can grab some nice cheap clothes from your local Salvation Army/Goodwill/thrift store. Masks, you can either make it yourself or buy one from some one who does (*shameless plug* Me ) The weapons are mostly wrenches or pipes if you're going for a thuggish splicer look. Other ones, find a gun or some hooks. Hoped that helped Buhdog11 |

I'm planning a Little Sister cosplay and I was wondering if you other Little Sister cosplayers use contacts and if so what kind? I've been looking into the sclera and normal kind but I'm not sure which ones are better or look better.
Thanks.

I was looking into the sclera lens.. they would be more accurate, but they are much more expensive and I've heard some horrible stories about how uncomfortable they are. I used just white ones.. not as accurate, but I wanted a more solid color and they were in my price range/ prescription. There were a few Little Sisters I saw with yellow regular lens that looked really cool, though. =)

I'm currently working on an Atlas cosplay, though I would love to attempt a Big Daddy or Big Sister someday. Atlas is just easier on the wallet right now. ^^;
I only have some WIP photos up at the moment... http://www.cosplay.com/costume/307219/ Last edited by Raenien : 08-26-2010 at 12:22 AM. Reason: forgot link |

My first cosplay (Dragon*Con 2009) was a Baby Jane splicer from the first BioShock
![]() http://www.flickr.com/photos/bubblessoc/3889095484/ (I'm on the left) I ordered an 80's prom dress from eBay and cut it to shreds. Here's the mask I wore: http://item.ebay.com/150475425752 Erica/Kairi G. made the splicer costume on the right. It was spot on!

It would be awesome to be one of the Splicers or perhaps Andrew Ryan holding something significant from the games but Andrew Ryan does not look all that special lol.

I'm starting my Big Sister cosplay next month, but I'm a little stumped on what kind of material to use for her cage on her back. Does anyone have any suggestions?
