Tabletop War-Gaming
This is the one thing more expensive than cosplay.
My armies: Warhammer Fantasy: Ogres primarily, then Chaos Mortals. I used to have a wood elf army and tomb kings army. 40K: Space Orks, but haven't started playing Warmachine: Khador Just started Warmachine recently, but I like it because it almost plays like a turn-based tactics game (without a grid of course) and warjacks are perhaps the coolest things ever to have on a table. This opinion led me to picking Khador due to their focus on hitting with these powerhouses.

I used to be big on Magic. Like really big. Like sickly big.
As for war-specific stuff, I always liked Warhammer, just for the figurines. The only real tabletop war game I play consistently is chess. Occasionally, Risk. But chess is like my 'thing'. Not to be confused with what I play with my girlfriend; 'chest'. Tee hee.

Woo, Warhammer!
I've got around 2000 points of Orks for 40K and roughly the same number of points in Grey Knights (which are pretty much unbuilt at the moment, they're a long-term project), and 500 points of Lizardmen for Fantasy. I also picked up some Chaos Knights/Warriors from a friend who didn't want hers anymore, but they're gonna be sitting on the back burner for a loooong time, I want to finish painting my Orks and assembling my Grey Knights first. And seconded on the cost factor - I don't even want to think about how much money it's sucked out of my wallet at this point.

Yea, but it's sooo awesome.
I may try to sell my chaos to get wood elves again, since I like their newer models... but Bretonnia is awesome due to using all the different colors, and on top of that pegasus knights! But Ogres have done a good job smashing face thus far. As for warmachine... I haven't painted anything in years and I forgot a lot of my techniques. But one of the workers at my local shop liked my recent layered red with my warjack armor so I may yet have hope.

Witch Hunters/Sister of Battle (Because I have to pick the army with only metal models >.>) in white with purple and gold accents. They haven't come out of the box in a WHILE, though, I've been way too busy.
I don't know the rules for Fantasy, but I love the models - occasionally I scavenge bits for conversions. There was also a spectacular French system that I could barely understand but the models were BEAUTIFUL - cannot remember what it was called though!

I always felt fantasy was mainly focused on outmaneuvering and breaking units through panic or combat resolution. I never got the feeling that it was about wiping the enemy off the board. That being said, 40k's rules and gameflow are very
foreign to me. Warmachine feels right at home surprisingly. Once my space orks are combat ready, I'll keep my 40k battles to modest skirmishes so that I don't get overwhelmed with keeping up with three tabletop games. (Cuz I also play magic and a bunch of other stuff)
