Name of Commissioner: JDSCosplay
Website/C.com gallery: http://www.cosplay.com/member/174387
Character commissioned and series/video game: Oscar Francois de Jarjays (Rose of Versailles) - Full cosplay
Timeline: Nine weeks
Describe your Experience: Excellent and very prompt communication. I was updated on construction constantly, with frequent progress pictures, as well as consulted for the type of material I preferred. This was commissioned on behalf of a friend, and the JDCosplay were patient with the process of payment transfer. The finished work is beautiful and of good quality that was well worth the wait.

Final Grade: A for quick and professional work.

Timeline (how long your order took to process) Ordered sometime in October last year, recieved today

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.

Pros: I was sent progress photos, all my questions answered and the costume fits.

Cons: The only con a have is the beetle on the necklace has no horns like the pictures I sent as reference.

Comments: Overall, the costume fits me. The back laces up like a corset to keep the wings nice and steady and because it came last minute *I needed it by Friday* I was offered 50% off my next commission.

Final Grade: A

For some reason the server is being picky and wouldn't let me update most reviews requiring new entries. I've got them saved separately elsewhere and will give it another go tomorrow. Very bizarre little error.

For the others, though, we're updated! ^^

Timeline (how long your order took to process) I tend to give my commissioners a huge amount of time. But its pretty darn fast even though I was considered the one with the least amount of urgency out of all her customers.
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.
I am most possibly the biggest wig noob ever, and so I was afraid I might try her patience with my retarded questions and worries... In the end, she was an utter sweetheart and would explain to me the not s and do s. Well what else can I say? She has been wonderful until the very end, and from now on, she is definitely the person I will go to for my wigs!
And oh yeah! Yay for the gummy sweets that came with the wigs~

Timeline: I commissioned her sometime in October 2009, I believe and I received the plushies on February 15, 2011 (huge time gap is because of me, not her =) )
Describe your Experience: The experience was definitely a positive one. I commissioned A-Chan sometime in October 2009. She had a big list, so I knew I was going to wait a little bit until I fell on queue (of course, I was aware of this and was more than happy to wait). Once it was time to work on my plushies, A-Chan showed me progress and let me give feedback. That was very nice of her! She was kind enough to add three extra details on Pyramid Head (stitches on apron, rim and criss cross details on the head) at no added cost. She also gave me progress on the Klonoa plushies.

The reason why there was a huge gap between the date commissioned to the date received was because I had money troubles and had a hard time paying for the entire cost of the plushies (of course, this was my fault, not hers). I was surprised on how patient and understanding A-Chan was to my payment plan! She waited patiently for each new patient and remained extremely professional. I cannot thank her enough for sticking through with me. She did not have to do this, but I thank her tremendously for doing so. Once I paid the plushies in full, she shipped the plushies immediately and provided tracking. All plushies were packaged nicely and arrived in tip top condition.

Of course, the plushies were worth the money. They were all extremely well made. There were absolutely no 'raw' edges since she serged each one. The detail put into each plushie is incredible. All the plushies looked as though they were built to last. Every material used was of the up most highest quality. She did a wonderful job transforming the characters into plushies, too! What was nice of her was that she made the plushies in the 'sitting down' position for me when she normally makes her plushie sit up.

Final Grade: A+ By far one of my most enjoyable, if not the best, commission experience I've had.

Item purchased:A Ferrari in Ginger Blonde

Timeline: About 2 weeks in total
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments
PROS: This had to be one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had when purchasing from someone. The communication was great and my emails were responded to within 2 days. They were also extremely accommodating since they only except paypal but I did not have one. In order to get around that I was able to order and pay over the phone. Overall the experience with them was the best. The product is also pretty outstanding as well. It's not as thick as I thought it would be but it is still pretty good. The color is nice and rich and it doesn't get extremely shiny in pictures, unlike my Cirno wig.
CONS: I loved how thick my Cirno wig (airily) is on the scalp and when I got this wig I was a bit disappointed that if I moved the fibers on it much, then the netting would show. It is still a great wig and this should be in no way a make or break for it.
Final Grade:A+ Great people to buy wigs from!

I just purchased a wig and I'd really like to write a review for the site I bought it from, but I have a question. If the package a wig comes in is damaged, is it usually the postal service's fault, the seller's fault, or both?

The wig was sent through USPS in a plastic bag inside a large paper envelope. When I got it, the envelope was torn and the whole thing had been put in another plastic bag by USPS.
The person I contacted before I bought the wig was extremely helpful, and the wig is just what I needed and doesn't seem like it was damaged at all, so I really don't want to give the site a lower review than it deserves.

Name of Merchant: Cosplay-Eyes
Website: http://www.cosplay-eyes.com/?uiaid=cc
Items Purchased: Basic Eye in "Pinky Raspberry" (2 single lenses, one with a -1.75 adjustment and the other with a -1.50) for myself, Basic Eye 2-contact set in "Pinky Raspberry" w/no perscription for my partner.
Photos of product in-use: http://www.cosplay.com/costume/351898/

Experience: Sitting in a net cafe after a club event where I actually had a conversation with 3 other Yuyuko cosplayers about a sorry lack of pink contact lenses out there, this site's banner popped up on my Cosplayer's Archive Account. And wouldn't you know it -- pink eyes! And not horrible single-color halloween lenses! Proper printed, textured, eye-looking pinks!!! Hooray!

My cosplay partner was also impressed and wanted a pair for her Shugo Kyara cosplay. So I ordered her a set as well. Payment was Collect-on-delivery and the lenses arrived within a week of ordering (within Japan).

Pros: Lovely lenses. Very rare colors and shades that are really sorely needed by a lot of cosplayers for a lot of different costumes. Their blues are an amazing deep day-glo blue perfect for BRS costumes and all of their colors are slightly different than the shades offered by "Venus Eyes" making for more variety in shades, not just another shop selling the same old ones.

Nearly all of their lenses are available in perscription as well as without. Perscription costs nearly twice as much and you need to order two seperate lenses each with the correct power inputted instead of one set but they arrive sealed in regulation with Japanese contact lens laws and have their power clearly printed on the outside of each case as well as on the label attatched to the clearpack containing the lens itself.

Lenses are about 2,000 yen less on average than Venus Eyes, my usual brand and are comparable in quality.

Cons: The color selection is still limited and some of their lenses they carry are matte effect lenses. I still crave a natural printed yellow lens. Get around to yellow next, please, Cosplay-Eyes!

Shipping is a little hefty (750 yen) for such a small item.

Overall Rating: A

*a note of caution ~ while cosplay-eyes will ship overseas (airily is the parent company), their minimum ship rate is 3000 yen (over US $35 and more than the cost of most lenses themselves)! That's kind of nuts. Highly recommend going through a buyer for this one ~or~ teaming up with some other cosplayers to order lots of lenses at once as a group and then split the shipping cost. 3,000 yen is nutters for one pair of contacts. For 8 pairs... it's not so bad.

Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.): Princess Tiana from Disney's The Princess and the Frog (Full Costume) Dress & Tiara

Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item: http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/179616/

Timeline (how long your order took to process): < 2 months? ^^

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: Miko was really amazing! She came to my house to take measurements and fittings, and kept me updated every step of the way with the progress of the costume by sending me photos. She is very sweet, and she made the dress pretty quickly too! And there were several parts of the dress that was hand sewn, so you know she took extra care and attention to detail to make the petals on the dress look as realistic as possible. <3 To this day, this dress is my favorite, and to be honest i'm not sure if i'll ever have a dress made that will surpass the amazingness of this one! x3

Final Grade: A+

Photos: http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...031751_n .jpg Yes, the picture is dark, but it was night when i got it and I only have a webcam :<
Timeline: Bought on February 10th, shipped February 14th, arrived February 20th

Pros: Soft wig, feels like real hair. Looks nice on me, very thick and full wig.

Cons: For the first time in my life... its a wig too small for me. I have an abnormally small head. And its too small for me. Its a struggle to get the back of my hair to stay in, and my sideburn area shows unless i position the sideburns on it JUST right. Really really odd if you ask me. I've never had this problem with a wig before, even ones KNOWN for being small. So beware... this wig is almost child sized.

Overall Rating: I guess a B-. Its a nice wig for the price ($25 free shipping), but how small it is was a HUGE downer.

Pros: Super soft wig! Fits me perfectly! I looooove this thing so much! Its also easy to style, as its a pretty thick wig. Absolutely beautiful~!! <333

Cons: It shed a LOT when i opened it. Its still shedding a bit on me XD;; And the seller didn't provide a tracking number, so i was a little on edge about it @___@;;

This is NOT the thread to ask that in. Please just look at some of the sites listed here, and make the decision yourself. If you honestly can't pick a site, ask here: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=214178&page=11
