so yeah.

It's weird the older I get the more obessed with cute things I become!
I've always loved Kawaii-Decora. Its just so CUTE!

a shop on ebay called Refuse to be Usual has a lot of deco things. & loli and goth too.
Are there any other stores online that specialize in kawaii-decora fashions?

As for not online shopping, Hot Topic seems to have become more "cuter" than it once was. Eventho I wouldn't sugguest it as a place to buy deco from, they do have some deco things. Mostly necklaces xD

Claires has some really cute jewerly, tho i think most of the stuff in Claires is targeted at young girls. Then theres Sanrio[if its near you], how can HK NOT be deco material?

now that i think about it, are there any type of "rules" for kawaii-decora. I never thought there were. But i've never seen them in black clothing.

is it anything goes as long as its bright and colorful?

I havn't really heard of rules before. >.>
Decora is mismatchy, lots of colorful pins in your hair. hard to make
rules for a fashion like that in my opinion. XD
and i have seen black and green color scheme decora in my Kera magazine.
If i had a scanner i would have shown you. ><

I'm not a decora, but I think a general rule in decora is that you should try to make your hairclips sort of a 'organised chaos' type of thing. They should be balanced while also being crazy.

That's what I've heard, anyway but like I said I'm not a decora.

thanks, i've always kinda thought that.

another thing, are hairclips a sorta "requirement" for decora? i've A LOT of decoras have hairclips, but i've seen a few who subsituted them for hats(normally big poofy kawaii hats like frogs)

I'm partly Decora myself, mainly into Fairy Kei/ Decora.
One tip to know is don't just throw om everything bright and colourful you have on!
it got to be, like Toro said, an 'organised chaos' XD

Not sure if there's an Ardene's in the States, but that's a good store for a bit of decora. Mostly the little knick-knacks you'd normally put on a keychain, but some are kawaii enough to work for decora. Claire's, like you said, is also a good store (I don't find it too targeted at younger girls. But..what do I know? I'm a young girl myself.)

A rule in general for Harajuku fashion, but mostly follows decora is "You don't just slap on colorful things -- alot of thinking is actually required." And, also, layers is another general rule. I've seen lot of people with colorful socks. Which I love. I also see alot of hoodies, even some in dark green or black. If you'd like, refer to this picture for a few ideas.
