Imitation weapons (at Supanova)
Okay, I get really confused by just what is and isn't allowed at a convention as far as weapons are concerned. I want to bring a gun or knife prop for my character, but I don't want to buy anything only for it to be taken off me when I get there.
Please, if you have any experience with this stuff, help me out! |

Most convention websites will have some sort of ruling in their cosplay registration section i believe. Give this a read.
http://www.supanova.com.au/weapons-policy/ Should be the same for most conventions.

So long as your weapon is under a metre long, the security shouldn't hassle you (Mental note to self: NEVER take a spear there!).
As with all cons, no metal is allowed, and if you've got a gun prop, it has to have that orange "this is a toy" tip on the barrel. |
