I just wait for them to stop talking, pick up on key words and stuff like that, and usually just respond with "Yeah, absolutely!" or something when they stop. Then I try to talk to someone else. Like skimming a book I don't want to read.

I tend to find when I find someone boring and force myself to listen I hear what they're saying, but after a while (or when they've finished) I can't recall what they were saying....if that makes sense.

I normally space out and think of what else I need to do that day, pick up a few words here and there, nod and say yes, and go on my way. The only thing I haven't mastered is if someone is looking closely they'll notice my eyes glaze over, so I need to work on that.

I usually do the whole nodding uh-huh, yeah etc. thing, listen to one or two sentences every so often, and then comment. I have found it works pretty well for me, since my brother is the type of person who can't shut up about himself at all. It gets really boring having him babbel about a guy he thinks is 'the one' that he only dated for less than a week every time I talk to him. >_<

When boring people talk, asparagi turn brown.
Normally I just daze off. When they ask if I'm listening I say "Could you repeat the whole thing over again?" They already know what I mean. But not to be rude, I just go with "Oh that chick's calling me, just a sec." Then I never go back to them. |

I've walked away in the middle of a sentence before and I'll do it again.

When a boring person is speaking, they usually do it via a lot of polls on cos.com.

I sometimes nod and say 'yeah' with increasing frequency till it's everyother word and they get the message that I'm bored and taking the piss.
Also one of the benefits of smoking is that if you want to get out of a situation you can always just say you're going out for a fag and slip out. Not that I condone smoking, but I don't judge it either. Do what you like. |

When a boring person starts talking to me, the voice in my head suddenly starts speaking with an accent. Yes, there is a voice in my head, but I've had it since I was three, so its a part of me. When I get bored of someone talking, the voice suddenly starts up and begins saying facts I already know in an accent and then go off when they stop talking.
If the voice doesn't start, and I'm really tired, I use falling asleep as an excuse. I fell asleep once and just sat there while my math teacher droned on and on about some new way of math. I woke up when the bell rang because my friend punched my arm that my head was resting on and knocked me over so I landed on my face... Yeah, my friends do that.... |

In class, it's like that for me all the time.
I tend to just stare at something right behind my teacher or at the my teach's forehead or something, so that they don't think I'm not listening to the lecture. XD But other than teachers, I don't know many people who speak like that irl. :0

O3o, very much have to say quite a few subs are like that. Though, one sub had this magical radio host voice. DX I even told him of it, and he commented "Radio caster, huh? You know, maybe i'd do that after I leave this class." Very hard to sleep with him talking. But for the boring people, like my former american history teacher me and my friend doodled.
