Nice Shoji! Number 2 is great! I love the color on film. *_*
Makes me want to go back to shooting on my Nikon EM.

@Tyke: I know it's overplayed to say "nice photo", but man, that is a nice photo! Haha! I like what you did with moving the colors more towards the blue/silver range. It actually looks like she was costumed up like that from the get go.

@Bruce: Ooooooooo awesome composition on the http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._5625258_n.jpg photo! How long does it take to setup this group shot? The location is killer btw.

Also, have fun in the Philippines man!

@Shoji-Aoyama
The first is nicely framed and the model has a nice expression, but it would have benefited from shallower DOF I think. What aperture were you at ?
I want the lens you used for the second one.

@Mnguyen: me too, me too. . . That's why I haven't put it down to this day, slide film in particular is the most pleasing to me, so I always try to keep some on hand

@Ashurachan: first shot was at 2.8 (read: wide open ) but we were just chilling at that point waiting on the other model so i was at the short end of the lens, if i had the time to actually do it over I'd run away and use the 200mm end. . . And yes, I love ultra fast 85mms as well, every time I rent that 1.4 I fall in love, its amazingly smooth

OK, more out of me today

heres playing with OCF at a Con about 4 months ago (Anime Matsuri 2011; Houston, TX), 2 speedlights, key light up high in the hands of a drafted on-shoot assistant, one I believe was ground level as a kicker, all through standard slip-on diffusers (think Sto-Fen)

and a little more recent at Sakura Con. . . off the F100 loaded with Provia 100F, looking through the tried and proven El Cheapo AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D. . . no fill flash (which I USUALLY do try to have in all my shots), or anything else special for that matter

It only took a few minutes to set up the group shot in question. I had some Speelite flashes on umbrellas, and the sun light beaming through dirt that was kicked up just before we did each take.

Here is another photo from that same oil refinery location, also for the 'Girls Of Action' photo book.

I like the sharpness and vibrancy of your first pic surfsama. It really grabs the attention of the viewer.

Here's a Rodin cosplayer from AX

Hi there, my turn to post up a photo. Been very busy with work so nothing new yet.

Here's one of my shoots earlier this year after I moved house.

Shot at 11mm using the Tokina 11-16mm, adjusted the white balance to a lower temp.

Thanks for the compliment surfsama, I'd tell you what I did to get my shot but it would end up reading "all kinds of shit". Jk

Does anybody have some self-portraits they would like to share? Here is one of mine. It was taken at Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles.

This is one of my favorite cosplay photos from my gallery. The cosplayer, location, and sky are separate elements.
