Does anyone know how to keep a head piece on? I'm having a hard time on China's bird.

Oh man, the America one has been a dream of mine since those designs came out...but oh my god I'm not that good at sewing, by any stretch of the imagination. D: That coat looks like death.

yes caulk is a glue, but if you get clear with stretch i Think is what it is, you can glue it into the wig and it's less of a mess than hot glue.

I just tried to sew my tomoyo buns into my wig and failed, but smaller additions can be sewn into a wig, just sew it into the wefts or else it'll fall down.

Also, hair combs might be a good idea. I haven't started planning that much ahead for my china costume so I haven't thought about the head piece.

yes hair combs will be the best. just glue (hot glue) it onto the back part so you can just push it onto the wig

Thanks! I'm gonna re-do it, though, I'm not too proud of it. I worked on it last minute, so most of the outfit consisted of hot-glue, haha. But when I get it done I'll definitely post pics!

My favorite technique: magnets. It's what I used on my crown here and it'll really save you the trouble instead of caulking your wig! Now, not just any ordinary magnets would do. ALSO DELAYED, but it seems to still be relevant to the topic at hand.

Why not attach it to hairclips? Not little ones. mind you, but section clips. They're usually 3 inches long or more, and when you clip it onto the wig, you can choose to attach it by going either under the weft, or just the wig's hair. (I actually haven't tried it with something like this, but it worked for some Kaito hairpieces I made, and I was probably planning on attaching my crown the same way.)

Never thought of using clips before...thanks for that. I'll try using this if the magnets doesn't work.

I have a conundrum guys. I am doing Russia's outfit and I have an america. The issue I am having is the saffron fabric actually. I really want to be able to have the scarf for more than just cosplay so I want to make it out of silk. If I did i would also make my cincher and skirt out of it as well. I want there to be uniformity in the fabrics though and I doubt my america will be willing to shell out money for a real silk cape, not to mention I really wouldn't think it a good idea.
Synthetics are out of the question(absolutely HATE working with them and the feel against skin) so my question is what do you think I should do? I really want these to look consistent but also I want the outfits to look nice and the way I percieve these sets is as if they were from an expensive set and so would be adorned in nice fabrics. Which makes me wonder what fabrics I should use for the rest of it. I was contemplating a red linen for the shirt and am still at a loss for the coat... Why does this have to be so tough?!
