Good, excellent! That isn't my picture: I found it on tumblr earlier today and recognized the NYCC background, and thought it couldn't hurt to check with you. I'm so glad!! I'd hate for you not to have any photos of your costume. That's always such a drag. c:

ALSO, to any DAENERYS cosplayer: I posted this on the Dragon*Con thread, but I'm also gonna post it here.. I am not very good at sculpting I realized.... and I need the three-headed dragon brooch(s) that Daenerys wears.. does anyone know where I can find someone who is commissioning or selling them? I tried etsy, and have no luck... =( |

Hey fellow friends!
I'm considering doing a Hound cosplay for next year's D*C. I've only read the books, not seen the series (and I'd like to keep it that way), but I'll need reference pictures of his armor. Can y'all recommend any websites that might be helpful? I've stumbled onto longagocaptures.org on my own, but any further aid would be great. Thanks!

That'd be awesome!!!!
Not screencaps, but the awesome Italian GoT cosplayers did a really helpful tutorial on how to make his armor, though it's mostly via pictures, might help with ideas... http://asoiafcosplay.blogspot.com/se...max-results=20 (scroll about halfway down) |

Hi, everyone! I'm planning on making one of Daenerys' costumes from the books, with her lion-skin cloak (for those who haven't read the books, Drogo kills a lion and Dany has a cloak made out of its skin, with the head as a kind of hood). For the head/hood part I'm planning on sculpting a lion head out of clay, then making a cast out of paper mache or plaster or something light, maybe with a wire frame inside if it needs more support, and then putting fur and eyes and other details on top. But I don't know how well this would work; has anyone made this costume or just have any brilliant ideas about how I could make this? Thanks!
Edit: Never mind, I found something perfect. Last edited by lunasol : 03-02-2012 at 09:45 AM. |
