Good Lenses for Cannon T1i
I got this camera a few years ago and loved it. I only have the factory lens and a 55-250mm lens. This was alright for me until I got better and began noticing little problems with each lens.
What would be a good lens that would help me take better cosplay shots? Also price range I would love something around $100 but I doubt that would be possible so if possible something at least under $500 as I am a college student and am short on money. Any help would be wonderful as I have no friends into photography and live in a remote area that has no camera shops besides Best Buy. |

Most people would probably recommend the nifty/fifty (50mm f1.8 II) to answer the general question of what to buy next. |

Well the problems with my lenses are
The 55-250mm requires me to stand very far away for full body shots which becomes an inconvenience, but it takes the best pictures. So I would say it lacks easy convention photos shoot usage. The factory lens which is an 18-55mm will not focus correctly (auto or manually) it also is making every picture blurry even when I set my camera to auto. I am believing this lens to be broken. When checking out the one you recommended I noticed some reviews saying the lens has gotten stuck on a few cameras. I am unsure about wanting to buy something that could potentially ruin my camera. Thank you for your help Last edited by BlindBandit11 : 02-24-2012 at 10:35 PM. |

For your price range and intended use, I would suggest a prime 35 f2.0 or replace the kit 18-55mm lens with a new one. I would check Craigslist.
If the 55mm end of your 55-250mm is too long for full body shots a 50mm isn't going to help. Last edited by Surfsama : 02-26-2012 at 06:53 PM. |
