Volcarona gijinka design

I'm hoping for some input on this.

I love Volcarona's design so I've been doing a few sketches. I initially wanted to do something involving armor, but since Volcarona is more of a low def special attacker then I thought maybe a more 'mage in robes' look would be more appropriate.

These are two different ideas, of course I might end up mixing and matching parts.

I hope it's also recognizable as the Pokemon? I figure it's not going to be super well known, so I want it to be impressive even if you don't know it.

I plan to have the wings lined with EL-wire for a glowing fiery effect

I think the armor version looks fantastic - I much prefer it over the mage robes version, low def/spec attacker or no. XD

But - I think it looks incredible both ways. I would recognize it right away, too.

Fiery wings - amazing idea.

Another Idea is a full on helmet that covers your face. The red trim could sit on it or you could make a white coat that comes up high on the neck and the collar could be the red trim. Just some out of the box ideas.
