I'm going to be cosplaying the Sufferer from Homestuck and I'm kinda wondering how I'm going to make his hooded shall/cape thing.

I'm going to be cosplaying a character that has a full sleeve of tattoos. I need a good tutorial on how to do this. I dunno if I should try to make one of those fake sleeves or just get someone to help me paint the tattoos on and if I did that I wouldn't know what products to use

I've sewn a dress, and a pair of shorts before, you know, learned the basics to sewing and all that jazz...but that was like three years ago...and now I have forgotten exactly what I did to make them. So if anybody knows a good tutorial on how to sew, and I don't mean on how to work the machine, or how to stich by hand...I still know the basics. What I really need is something that shows every step that goes into making something, so I can make sure I'm not screwing up doing some major step wrong. Every time I look online, I find endless tutorials on how to work the machines, or how to look at a pattern then skillfully make a costume without any instruction. -_- I need help.....I'm a newb...but not so much that I need help threading a needle. If there is any clear step by step tutorial on sewing/ the making of a costume, that would be very useful! ^-^

It looks like a poncho with a hood. Simplicity has a sewsimple pattern that is like $2. Considering that you'll have to modify (make the body longer and the hood fuller) the pattern it maybe your best bet. ie cheapest

Could you buy and blank tat sleeve and use fabric paint to customize the tats. If you look up +body +paint +tattoos under Makeup and Eye Contacts then you will get eight threads including all time best body makeup suggestion and Body paint that won't smear onto your costume.

Try the "Must Have" (sewing, etc.) books for cosplay thread for ideas.

Actually, it looks like an ordinary cape (lots of patterns available) but the one front piece has been pulled up and thrown over the opposite shoulder.

Did you know there is temporary tattoo paper you can run through your own printer? Michael's carries it, in the same section with the other print-your-own craft things (usually by the tee shirts). As long as you have software to scan/ draw/ copy said tattoo, you can print it & wear it.
Warning! Printing on the "best quality" will get you an awesome fake tattoo, but also uses a lot of ink.

Do you need an unusual color or size? I'm not saying you shouldn't make them, but sometimes it really is easier to buy.

Thank you, I did not know about that.

Hi all

Looking for a clothing design program. Some thing that would be like what AutoCad is to an architect for plotting out basic plans & blue prints. Would anyone know if one exists?

Cheers
