I'm very excited to see everyone's interpretations, especially how people execute the fire portions of outfits. Work on Effie is proceeding - I have a very talented wig commissioner working on the wig and hat/fascinator and I'm starting to figure out the outfit itself. I'm doing more of an "Effie-inspired" outfit though, since it's not a screen-accurate one.

Alpha-helix: Do eet! Effie is just too fun NOT to do!

Just because I haven't posted here yet...I'm Moonflower's Peeta for some of the groups we're in and I'll be doing Marvel's training outfit for another group.

I was considering dying my hair brown again for katniss since my wig gets annoying, but styling a full wig for Sansa will be even worse, so wig for katniss it is! Haha. Though I think real hair will look better than a wig. More realistic

I love your wig though! it looks fantastic for Katniss!
I bought a wig that's pretty good just incase my hair doesn't work as planned! But the wigs do get annoying, lol.

I think I'm going to go for Effie. Still not potsitive I'll have the time, but since I got over "the hump" for my Tudor dress (aka: farthengale with all the topstitching handsewn) and hope to have that wearable before the local Ren fest finishes in June, and sense I can sew Victorian dresses in my sleep the odds are in my favor.

I'm starting to research modern patterns I could modify. I've caught myself thinking how much easier this would be if it were Victorian! Hey, those sleeves are right out of the 1890s

Oh Lordy, now I'm poncdering Victorian!Effie

Okay, the parade costumes in the parade plan is probably out, my husband just isn't interested in doing Peeta. He will probably come as Seneca Crane though (who is better suited to his looks anyway) but only on Friday, as he'll need to be clean-shaven for other costumes. And my sister's coming as Katniss, and she makes a better Katniss than I do, so I may end up not doing a Hunger Games costume at all.

I really want to do a Katniss Everdeen costume, my friends think I look like her! (I have dark wavy hair and olive skin, but really dark eyes. Nothing contacts can't fix!) I might do either Arena or Hunting outfit. I'm leaning toward her movie hunting outfit right now though. But if I can convince my dad, then count me in! When and where do you guys plan to meet up? I think there should be a list of who's cosplaying who on the first post too. Just to see how many people there will be! C:

So I saw a post on the Dragon*Con livejournal about getting together a bunch of Capitol citizen for a couture photoshoot. Is anyone else thinking of doing something like that? I think it'd be a really fun, relaxing costume as compared to the more time consuming and/or hard-to-wear ones.
