How to "Repoof" a petticoat?
I don't know the name of the fabric it is, but I have a petticoat that after extensive packing into a suitcase, it isn't that "poofy" anymore. Does anyone know of any ways to bring poof back to a once poofy petticoat?... The one I got was at Cosaru's a while back, and it's nice. *Site doesn't let me link to the direct page* I don't see the fabric listed on the page either, but all I can say is, the fabric is stiff, not soft. It is kinda like think paper with holes in it, but it isn't paper, it is fabric....if anyone knows what that fabric is called. =/....
Sorry for being extremely vague. My con is this weekend, and well, I am just hoping there might be some kind of overnight advice or something.

Got to love commissioning! Thanks everyone!! Serious thanks to Dulcinea, who actually made the deadline for the accessories far in advance and of outstanding quality. Sucks they won't be used. |

Is it made of tulle fabric? I just shake mine out and hang it upside down for a day. You can't really ruin a tulle fabric unless you fold it inter a tight corner.

Tulle, that's it. I knew I would know it if I heard it. Thank you, I will try that.

Looking back at the Tulle, it is also seeming that the folds are kind of undone too. =/... instead of "poof" in a circle all around, it is like the poof goes out then in then out then in, like it would be wavy from looking at it above. I have it hanging upside down, and shaken it out, but I dunno if that is going to help, since the folds are undone. >_<;

I'd use an iron... But my opinion is invalid as I've never had to do it before.

Just throw it in the washing machine with warm water, It'll repoof after you shake it out and let it dry.

In the future, please do the following regarding tulle -
Keep it upside down on a hanger. Refrain from using wire hangers. Ideally, use something with clips. Ballet dancers use tulle/netting for their tutus - storing it involves dress bags and magic with hangers. |
