Acg 2012

Hey all~! I'm heading back to HK this year to visit and it so turns out it'll coincide with ACG! It'll be my first time cosplaying there, so I'm trying to check out their website in regards to cosplay... But with my half ass chinese reading skills, I am unsure about a few things.

I saw this "Cosplay 自由行" and is a bit confused.... Do I have to register to cosplay? Just cosplay, no competition what-so-ever. Do I change there and where would I usually change at? I heard a rumor that if u cosplay you get in for free?

I think they changed the policy last year as they claimed there were just too many cosplayers to handle. Last year, they limit the number of cosplayers getting in for free. All cosplayers who want to enter for free need to pre-register. Yes, you get in for free if you cosplay. However, you need to register with a photo of the character you cosplay for approval. You can change there in the changing room. Expect long line-ups. Just wait for their site info when it becomes available. They might keep the policy or change it this year.

Well, on their website, pretty much everything says the pre-reg online are all over... cosplay "free-walk", cosplay contest, singing contest, etc... So early in the year for it to be all filled out already :x

I honestly don't mind paying for entry fees to save me all the grief, so if I pay for entry fees, I can still cosplay and not worry about "registering" to cosplay right?

Yup, you can. Actually many just cosplay and pay the entry fees there.
(However, you cannot use the changing room)

I'm sure the pre-reg thing was full last year (2011).
Not this year yet as they haven't updated anything for 2012.
Wait for their update later on this year.

Entry fee is like $25 or $35 HKD

so that's like $3 or $4 American

Anyone going to this year's ACG? And who are you cosplaying as?
