Transform this dress into ?
Hello^^
I'm a fan of cyberpunk and this isn't a direct cyberpunk question but... I'm going to a "Dance through the Decades" dinner & dance, and my "decade" is "cyber/future". I don't want to go out and buy a whole outfit for this, and I would love to have some cyber-punkISH stuff in my outfit. This is the dress I want to use as my base: http://adelusionalalchemist.devianta...iduf-298096109 I'm wearing a shrug, but it's actually a strapless dress. Any ideas would be really helpful! thank you.

well i dont know if this would work bc i dont really sew (i buy fabric and my mom sews.) but i was thinking:
cut through the bottom of the dress up to wherever u want(i think i would suggest until right under that belt) evenly on the places u would usually fold in pleats for a school girl skirt. then you get zippers of the appropriate length for where you cut. you also get fabric of the same kind and different color, maybe silver because of the future thing. sew in trapezoid or triangle shaped pieces of that silver* fabric in where u cut earlier and the bottom would end up wider. other than making it into a pleated dress i have no idea what you could do with it. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...w=1280&bih=633

I do not like your dress. I would suggest you choose some different colored dress or skirt and wear black shrug over it. Black color suits with every dress. White and clack combination is good.

$10 or so will get you a few yards of EL Wire, which can give you a really cool glow effect (like this)!

For Halloween I went as an android, and if you get wires and cut them to resonable lengths (as well as cutting away some of the plastic) you can feed them from out under your dress and it looks pretty cool (I was going for a more Bladerunner thing though...).
Also, accessories like fingerless gloves and legwarmers in bright colours can affect the whole outfit. Your makeup can also help a lot too. |
