when should you start toning?

So I'm wondering how you know when you should start toning certain area's of your body. I've heard mixed studd about this. Some people have told me you can start toning whenever yet that seems bad to me and ithers have said to wait until you don't have very much fat on you or it can end up making you look larger in the long run.

I'm only 5'0-5'3 idk I'm always rold different heights everytime i'm measured and I'm 122 lbs i still want to be thinner but i'm not to worried about actually making the scale go down i want to loose inches and look more firm but smaller especially in my stomach and thighs.

Why wouldn't you mix up your exercise routine with toning and cardio together?

I could do that, I'm just so afraid that I'll make myself appear to be larger so I want to make sure that I'm doing the right thing for sure.

To be "tone" you have to have a certain amount of body fat
(some people say you have to have less than 10% body fat to
really notice the muscle fibers).

As for losing fat in the thighs and stomach you have to go on
a diet and exercise.

A lot of women I know think their legs are naturally muscular or some
shit when its really mainly fat. If you can pinch the fat in your inner thigh
then you can tell if it is mainly fat or muscle.

The right time to tone is whenever you've built a sufficient amount of muscle.
So build muscle first then cut down later.

If you need a training program or learn more about health and fitness just send me
a message, and I'll try to help you out personally.

Other than that. GOOD LUCK!

I'm not sure what you're asking by "when" to tone... If you're trying to lose fat and build muscle it's difficult to do both at the same time. Being toned is essentially just having muscle and low fat. There's not really a magic property of toned muscles that's different from any other muscles outside of just how visible they are.

For women, I think they're often too concerned with working out. I think most women think if they do workouts that are "men's workouts" then they'll turn into Ryu from Street Fighter. It doesn't really happen that way. If a woman works out by doing things like that, it just makes them look toned and fit, not super muscular and scary. Especially if you're mixing it in with a lot of cardio, especially running, you won't have to worry about "bulking up" at all. Any working out you do will just serve the purpose of making you toned and fit.

Oh no i wasnt worries about getting big and muscular since i know that won't happen lol. I was more worried about gaining some muscle which would make any excess fat i have over that appear to be larger I'm not sure if I'm making sense here or not?

Nah, if you're not going specifically for muscles then you're not going to be building a large amount of muscles. If you're just doing some stuff for exercising (sit-ups, push-ups here and there, ect.) and mixing that with a lot of (or especially mostly) cardio, then you're going to be mostly just burning fat than building muscle. The muscle that you do get is just going to be there to make the toned part that you wanted to happen...um...happen lol. It's not really going to be adding a whole lot of bulk or anything.
