Opinions?
First time posting aaah ;n;
Hi there! So, I've decided on doing a Sky Forme Shaymin gijinka cosplay at some point. I'm just getting into styling wigs after dreaming about it and reading a million tutorials for all sorts of styling tips. -u- Inspired by this picture but I wanted to do something more accurate to the original pokemon, so I was thinking something like this (excuse my shoddy doodles). However, I'm forever indecisive about wigs! I figured I'd get some more opinions just in case. I was thinking Arda's Magnum in Light Green, since it seems to be recommended for that sort of short spiking? Does anyone have any experience with this color? Or maybe you have a better suggestion? I figured this would be a good first real project since there's not the issue of character accuracy with an original design. Thanks, again! Last edited by tomatoes_dammit : 04-28-2012 at 09:30 PM. |

That sounds like an adorable idea, but my only concern is the Light Green is more neon than you might want. The Magnum is definitely a good choice.

I wish my colour ring had arrived by now, as that would give me a clear idea which colour is closest. The Jade is definitely softer and more earthy coloured, but the gijinka image you linked is bright.
I'm sure it will look good no matter which wig you choose and it's purely up to your own interpretation with pokemon. I made my first cosplay a pokemon for just that reason.^^

First off, I just want to say I think it's awesome you're doing a Shaymin gijinka cosplay. I always thought it was a really cute design :3
Anyways, getting back to the wig, I think the light green would be a good choice. It's bright, but I don't think it's quite neon. Besides, shaymin is a pretty bright shade of green. Here are a few pics I of the magnum in light green that I just found on their site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawigs/5560148205/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawigs/5710851912/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawigs/5711015854/ here's a couple of them styled with spikes to give a better example of how they can be spiked: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawigs/5711292778/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawigs/6094682981/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawigs/6625367475/ I personally have not bought an Arda wig yet, but from what I've heard they're totally awesome. I think it would be a great wig to work with for this cosplay.
