Help! Miss Martian Gloves

Ok I'm at my wits end. I have tried to remake and remake and once again remake these gloves for my Miss Martian cosplay at least 7or 8 times. And the anime club I'm making it for is next week. And I keep having an issue with my index finger fitting in the pattern. Would it seem bad of me to make her glove fingerless? Because I could kind of see that. But I don't know if thats my anger speaking. And I don't have enough time and money to buy a glove pattern what with having no money and being busy with a hectic work week coming up. What do you guys think? And I get paid Friday but my local Party city doesn't sell blue gloves. I'm kinda going outta me mind her. hehe. Please help me I really need the advice!!!!!

I know this is a late reply. Maybe you've already decided on something. Are you doing a gusseted pattern? What's not fitting right? If you are putting the index finger on a fold you have to cheat in a little extra.

First - gloves are extremely difficult to make. I'm a very experienced sewer and they are tough for me. After 4 finished gloves - and a dozen test gloves - I'm getting the hang of it.

Here is a pattern:

If you can buy something close in shape - you can dye most things with RIT. RIT is a couple of bucks a box. Also being Memorial Day weekend - there will be a lot of sales.

Try looking a few places for gloves - the local thrift store should have some since it's out of season. Also check the hardware store or home improvement store - they have a ton of gloves for gardening and whatnot.

Good luck!

I tried using this glove tutorial I got from deviantart.com And I tried multiple times to add more around it. But I have really nobbly joints that kinda stick out. And my index finger would always get stuck. I will definitely try dyeing some gloves. I bought a pair of red ones from party city because they match the cosplay. But it still irritates the crap outta me they aren't original and long like they are suppose to be. lol. But I do plan on now buy a pair of white gloves and dyeing them. Thank you very much. And I don't mind that it was a late response. I'm just happy some one responded!
