Original Yokai Designs
So this year for A-kon 23 the theme was Yokai and my friends and I decided to do some costumes for it. I designed and made all three costumes myself down to pretty much all the details except shoes and jewelry. Here's a trio shot. The rest are in the gallery. I would love to see other takes on the idea.

Umm...my Yuki-onna took about 8-10 hours to make, the Kitsune took about 5-6, and the Tengu took about 10-12 (mostly because of the wings). All of the pieces were actually really easy to make since they were pretty basic. I think the things that took the longest to actually construct were the wings for the Tengu and the corseted obi for my Yuki-onna, that thing was a logistical nightmare at first. I still have a Kappa I was making for my nephew that I need to finish and get pictures of him wearing before he goes home in the next few weeks. He will be a cross between Japanese style and a Victorian/Edwardian gentleman complete with top hat.

Just in the last six months I've made over ten costumes. Some for me, some for friends, and some on commission. I also work full time^^
