I don't believe I will be cosplaying this year because I'll be 7 1/2 months pregnant at the time of the Con and I'm sure that alone is going to be a challenge. My husband wants to somehow find a big enough rubber ducky inner tube to place around my middle so that I have a "bumper" zone amidst all the people.
Anyone have any experience being pregnant or knowing someone pregnant at conventions? Any tips are appreciated!
You can get a handicap sticker and not have to wait in the long lines, i was my dad's second last year with his handicap tag and i meet many pregnant women waiting in the handicap line instead of the big line. Also I'm told if you have a baby a month or no before the con you can also get handicap tag, I'm actually having my baby in July, good luck to you

Just something I want to share with you guys that I'm working on for a client. A couple extra ones are also going to be made for the D*C Charity Auction.

I have successfully galvanized my fingers from being hurt with needles by coating them in superglue. xD

Thankfully not loads this year! I just have to finish altering a shirt and I'll be done sewing. On the other hand I still have to finish knitting a hat...

I count down the work days I have until the convention (days to finish my costumes), and I have 15. I'll be at a con this weekend, and I don't count the night before con because that's a packing night only.

What I still have to do:
Put the various pieces of my Tenth Doctor suit together
Put pockets into my Tenth Doctor coat
Attach the lining and interlining of the coat to the outer shell (after putting in the pockets)
Make the Fifth Doctor's suspenders (not much is done on that front, but the hardware is coming)
Finish putting trim on the Fifth Doctor's jumper
Put together the Fifth Doctor's frock coat which is currently a pile of cut pieces in my living room
Finish my Mr. Stay Puft patch and attach all of my patches to my Kaylee Ghostbuster uniform (might do this at my Wednesday night stop or Thursday night in my room)
Fix the top piece on my sporran for Jamie McCrimmon

Goodness, yes. I'm freaking out right about now. I've been putting in a lot of of overtime at work and it's majorly cutting into my sewing time. Only one of my costumes is completed, and the rest are all in various states of completion. If I can get two of the "almost done" costumes knocked out tomorrow, I'll feel much better. >_<

Sigh... Always. Someday, I'll learn my lesson and start sooner.

I have some tweaking to do on my Steampunk Harley Quinn from last year. That should go fast. But my big costume project is probably about 40% done. Going fast enough that it should be done in time, but I'll be cutting it close.

Then there's the fact that I'm also a dealer, and need to keep working on getting my inventory prepared. So much to do, never enough time!

My Steampunk costume/equipment that I debuted at MegaCon is ready enough. Victor Voyeur, Expeditionary Photographer: Your Likeneſs Immortalized in a Permanent Etching.

I got a little improvement in the mail today (some pads to make it more comfy) and there are always upgrades and updates that I'll be doing along the way. I really could use a better shirt, and a way to make my jodphurs stay crisp and poofy. So it's always a work in progress. But it's all FUNCTIONAL and that's what matters.

My second costume (Zombie The Stig) is coming along relatively quickly, and should be done in plenty of time if I don't slack off. I'm trading some work with my wife, she's helping me with some tailoring of my jumpsuit and I'm helping her with some fabrication work for her second costume. Unfortunately, she gets stuck with the sewing machine while I get the fun stuff like the Dremel tool and the power drill and the paint.

Will you be at the Gotham City shoot on Friday in Steampunk Harley? I have a different version of a Steampunk HQ and I'd love to get a pic of double-trouble Harleys if you're there! Unfortunately, I may have a conflict that keeps me from the big DC shoot on Saturday, so it looks like the Gotham shoot may be the only night for my Harley. >_<
