I hope it's ok to post a link : o I know many people would like to know how to lighten a wig, so I thought this might be useful. It's only semi permanent, but it looks really good!

Out of curiousity, how well can you comb through the wig after you did the painting? It looks really soft in the pictures!

I had to look the markers up online cause those aren't just any marker; and found this http://www.durablesupply.com/pospainmar.html they are Auto markers used for glass like when people write things on their windows for Prom or Graduation. I've never seen this brand where I live before, but it's nice to know what type to look for(I'd like to try this thanks :3)

@Miyabi: It is really soft, so combing isn't a problem at all. The wig fiber feels a bit different though, it's like.. how do I explain it... it feels a little rougher. But I don't think it's a problem. I don't want people to go feeling up my wig after I've styled it anyway xD

@solstis: Oh, I didn't know you can use it for glass and such : o Here in Norway people mainly use it for drawing on fabric, because it doesn't wash off when you wash the clothes. Thank you for wanting to try it out! :33

Norway... that might explain why I'd never heard of it XD Thats odd because there is in fact fabric paint that comes in a pen type too, or that brand makes fabric paint and I didn't find that (here in the US :3 ) I might try both but I have a feeling regular fabric pen might notwork..

but first I need a wig to lighten >_<

OK and after even more rsearching XD Posca is a water based paint marker SO I am going to try a Sharpie paint marker :3 and maybe an Auto glass marker if I can find one for cheap.

looks like Posca is not even sold in the USA >_<
yay %50 craft store coupon. I have a sky blue wig I will try this on

I'm glad that people find it useful!

@solstis: I think it is possible to buy posca online, but I'm not sure! And to tell the truth, unless you really need to lighten a wig and have no other option then to do this method, I wouldn't do it. Not because it's a bad method, it looks beautiful and all, BUT the posca is so expensive! For a big size posca I payed 99 norwegian kroner, which is approximately 17 USD. FOR ONE POSCA! That's insane. but Norway is insanely expensive anyway, so it's probably cheaper in other countries.
I'd love to see how your wig turns out though! And if it is possible to use other types of markers than posca :3

I haven't gotten to pictures just yet bit I got 3 pens, Sharpie water based, sharpie oil based, and a window marker. the largest size Sharpies is 9$

The window marker worked best but all of them felt crunchy O_o but it's hard to tell if it's the paint or if it's the wig not one of my better ones.So I can see it partly being something about the Pasca that the othersdon'thave.
