EB Costumes - Professional Commissions
I am a Canadian commissioner, working with a partner to fill orders; we are professionally trained costumers who work in ballet and television (for a Disney XD show), and have a wide range of skills from fine tailoring to mascot heads and suits.
We are available to fill orders for September and on. You can see some of our work here. ![]() When I compile a quote, I split it into the labour fee and the material fee. The labour fee is fixed, unless we make amendments later on, in which case they can increase accordingly; it is based on my estimate of the time required to complete the costume, multiplied by an hourly rate. The material fee is only an estimate, and will depend on availability and cost of the materials required. A rush order fee may be applied on short deadlines. I use Paypal only (unless you are local, in which case I will accept cash payments), and charge a 50% nonrefundable deposit on the labour fee, plus a portion of the fee for the materials. Upon completion, I will invoice you the balance based on the actual cost of materials, and the rest of the labour fee. I am based in Vancouver, Canada, so be prepared to pay for shipping unless you are local. I generally ship costumes using UPS, unless it is something too small to garner their flat fee. Shipping is not included in the price quote, and will be determined based on the dimensions and weight of the final product. ![]() Please use a form similar to this to request a quote. Series: Character: Reference Picture(s): Pieces to be Made: Clothing/Dress Size: Due Date: Due to the time it takes to research and estimate each quote, please make serious inquiries only. Please email ebcostumes@live.com for all quotations, as we will not respond to requests in this thread. Last edited by Nishibie : 07-05-2012 at 08:23 PM. |

Here are the measurement forms I use for my commissions; it is important to have someone help you take measurements, as moving around by yourself will distort the results.
Stand in a relaxed position with your arms hanging loosely by your sides for all measurements, and wear form fitting clothes. Do not add any ‘ease’ to the results, as that will be calculated while drafting the pattern. Please also be honest with your measurements, as I cannot be responsible for fit if they are not correct. Male Measurement Form Female Measurement Form Please use the form corresponding to your body type, and not the cosplay you are doing. |

Effie Trinket Fabric:
I’m sorry, but the only source I have found for the fabric was this website, and this was after days and days of looking. I am fairly confident that this was the supplier for the film itself, due to their location, and have no idea if any more of it is available elsewhere. It was called “Chinese Brocade in Lavender,” and that is the only description I have. I also cannot take on any commissions for the dress unless that fabric is CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, so please check the link. Sorry for the post, but I’ve been getting some 5 emails a week asking about either this costume, or where to get the fabric. |
