When I told this girl who has always been in the Philippines about me going to Anime Expo in Los Angeles, she was so excited to see the photos I take of cosplay in America. The costumes she makes, and the costumes I saw in general at cosplay events in the Philippines were truely awe-inspiring!

took this at anime expo12 for a shoot and worked on it a bit in lightroom. she was a pleasure to work with.

At Anime Expo 2012, I did plenty more photos of me jumping at cosplayers for my "WHEN PHOTOGRAPHERS ATTACK" photo series.
Here, I found cosplayer who flew from Japan to be at this Cosplay event in Los Angeles. He had an amazing amount of real action moves. I did these all with available light....No flash. This time I decided to avoid the showing the actual kick, and instead show the lead-up and landing. I like these poses as well!   |

I know the massacre at the Batman Rises opening over-shadows the movie itself, but I think, in spite of the horrible, and hopefully isolated event, the show must go on...

I think I have here the same cosplayer as in Surfsama's last post. Her name is Crystal, and she is cosplaying as a character from the computer game Fire Fall. The costume was made by my friend and professional sculptor and costume-maker in the movie industry, Steve Wang.
