Hi i've been on cosplay for a couple of years now at least and finally took the time to try and find out about what these show case photos are that stay on the main home page longer than anybodyelses photos, that appear at the top of the page. I have always wondered, though searching through for ages on this forum, I can't find any help on what it means?
Do anybody know what they are about?

well, they are the really really really really really awesome ones that the admin and such really like so they keep them up for a while as a "omg youre cosplay is awesome" section..though, we as regular members have no say or anything in who gets a showcase, so its not worth caring about until you actually get on there lol

Oh OK, but that sounds a bit like singling people out in a way I would say. Everybody works hard on thier costumes. So for some costumes to be more privaleged to have thiers up longer doesn't sound right really, now I know what it is.
I do thank you for a reply as I always wondered why some people get their costume up there for days.

Yea..Honestly, I have to hand sew everything right now..So imagine the hard work I have to put in the ones i do myself..Yet because I do not have the programs to make everything look amazing, and the areas to take good shots, I will never be in the showcase..Kinda messed up if you ask me..

I don't think it's messed up I think for the most part the people on the showcase photo/costumes put an insane amount of time/effort/money into their costumes and getting them photographed, they deserve a little recognition for going above and beyond what majority of people do. And that's not to say that every single person works hard, these people have just invested money in equipment to take them to the next level.

I understand where you are coming from there, But the point is only the ones with the best photoshoots and the most glamourous cosplays are picked. That means if they bought it online or had it commissioned, all they did was put a little money into it. There was no effort on their part, But yet since it looks really good, They get recognition. Yet the ones that have to spend all day and night and hundreds upon hundreds of dollars are never recognized because they don't have that super amazing lighting or the best photoshoot in the world. That just is not fair to the other members that actually work their asses off on a costume.
