Grab a Partner: Katsucon 2013 Formal Ball!
I know it's super early, but it's never bad to plan ahead! Who's going to Katsucon's formal ball? Will you be going in fancy cosplay? Need a friend/date/dance partner to go with? Discuss here~
I've been going as fem!Turkey (from Hetalia) a couple of times, so I may just go as civilian!Kotetsu for the formal for 2013~ |

Dunno, me and my girlfriend went in 2011, and it seemed kinda hasty thrown together. Maybe we'll try again this year. Was last/2012's formal ball good?

What kind of music do they play at the ball? I might just throw together a Waiter Tamaki Suoh or something to that effect.

Ghai, the experience is different for everybody, I suppose. But for me personally, I loved it and thought it was a lot of fun!
Kaze Saffire, They play all sorts of music that you can do ballroom dancing to, mostly songs from anime and video games. At the 2012 dance, they threw in a few wildcards-- Party Rock Anthem, Ponponpon, and the opening theme to BBC's Sherlock. But of course, they mostly play formal stuff. xD |

I definitely plan to go to the formal ball this year, but I haven't decided yet if I'll be in a formal cosplay or if I want to put together an original fancy ball costume for the occasion. If I decide to attend in cosplay, it will probably be in my Dancer Lenna cosplay from Final Fantasy V or my Princess Nadia cosplay from Chrono Trigger.
 I'm excited to go at any rate, although I don't think the Katsucon ball is anywhere close to being as good as AnimeUSA's. :P

I didn't have much fun a few years ago that one time I went, back when it was at Crystal City. But maybe I'll go this time around. I really want to be able to wear my prom dress again.

I'd love to meet up with any guys who know how to ballroom dance. I used to dance in college and I miss it and a formal ball sounds like the perfect chance to get out on the floor again! Any takers?

Have always thought about going but never had anything to wear or no one to go with o.o but my friend and i may make a dress for me finally and go...any partners or even dress ideas? (i've been going to katsu for ages and passing this chance up, so it's time haha)
@dragonlance311 - I'd get a ball gown stocking if I can finally decide on angel ball gown or lolita ball gown (i've found a version of both o.o) especially since I've wanted to cosplay stocking before but never had the reason haha
