I don't know how strong of a presence BSG will have this year as a fandom at D*C, but I'm planning to reprise my Roslin cosplay from last year and would love to get together with other BSG cosplayers for photos, parading and other general shenanigans. Anyone else?

I'll be wearing my new flightsuit.

It's not set in stone yet, but The Colonial Fleet's going to have a photoshoot on Sunday around 10am. We're still trying to find a location. There's also a party on Sunday evening - I can PM you the details if you're interested! (BTW, I think I saw you as Roslin last year - loved the whiteboard!)

LOL, Thank you so much, I had so much fun last year and I've added/upgraded a couple of things for this year. My Once Upon a Time meetup is on Sunday late afternoon and I'll be doing that costume for Sunday morning/late afternoon, but I'd love the info for the Sunday night party - we're staying 2 blocks away from the con, so I can probably do a quick change.

No, it's actually been that way for a while. Really the only way to get in is to meet the members at cons and then you need two 'sponsors' - so going to the party and/or photoshoot would be a good way of doing that. It's kind of a tightknit community so they keep membership limited.

Yeah, it's outside. Somewhere, lol. I've actually only ever been to D*C once and can't recall where exactly these steps are, but I'm sure if you go around the building you'll find them eventually. A lot of photoshoots take place there.

Speaking of walking around, is there's a special way to walk around with an airsoft gun in public that you know of? Leoben from Anchorage has a rifle. I won't be waving it around or anything, but not looking forward to be hassled by cops

If you walk in the main doors of the Hilton and straight past the stairs, you'll come to glass doors on your right, and that's where the stairs are. It's a big open concrete area with a large set of stairs. I never knew it was there until last year.

I'm not sure if this will help, but this is the official D*C weapons policy:

Please abide by our weapons policy: All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded. No functioning projectile weapons includes water pistols, silly-string guns, and ping-pong pistols. Bladed weapons must be cased or sheathed at all times. No clowning around or showing off in the common areas. Any weapon used in an offensive manner will be confiscated and rule #7 enforced. We expect you to use good judgment; with your help, we can continue to allow peace-bonded weapons - thanks!

Especially in the harsh reality of our times, Dragon*Con security staff, hotel security, and local law enforcement officials will treat anything that looks like a real gun as a real gun.
