I want to try Lolita fashion...

....but I don't know where to begin!

I've been looking into the lolita fashion for a whil, and I'm not even sure where to begin. xD

Where should I buy lolita clothing from? I don't have a ton of spare cash, but I can save up for some nice outfits if they aren't way too expensive.

Also, is it frowned upon for lolitas to wear fashions from different subgenres of lolita clothing? (i.e. someone wearing sweet lolita fashion one day and punk lolita the next)?

I need as much advice as I can get. @_@

Well it depends on what your idea of expensive is really, but for cheaper options I'd recommend Bodyline, Anna House, Fan plus Friend , and Taobao stuff through Clobba.

Nope, not frowned upon at all! A lot of lolitas like a range of styles, myself included.

you can also do the EGL comm sales for use brand items, and offbrand, i've bought all my brand stuff second hand so its cheaper.

Don't just start buying items though =O gather pictures of the items you want. and think about coords you can make. it saves you a lot of money in the long run.

I'm always jumping between sweet, hime and casual, and sometimes some classic.

If you want to use clobba it's very simple! They have a email listed that you can contact them with, email them the items you want and your country (I think they have the exact things you need to send listed somewhere). They'll reply with the cost of shipping (sometimes tips on other things you can ship with it for cheap, like when I ordered shoes they told me if I ordered two pairs I wouldn't increase the shipping that much). After than you download the order form, fill out your info, and email them again. The lack of a shopping cart is annoying, but they're very good with email.

Fantastic! You're a total life saver. Do you have any idea how their shipping is? I hear it ranges depending on the seller.

And if it has a line crossed through an item does that mean that it's no longer in stock?

You can always send questions to their email. I'm sure they'll be able to answer them better.

ThakYuki is right, it's best to ask them. Shipping can really depend on the item and how much it weighs. But yes, a line through means that it's out of stock.

I suggest Milanoo. They have lolita and cosplay and just clothes in general, for pretty good prices. I don't really know about the quailty or brand, but that's where I've been looking at for cute lolita.

Milanoo is terrible, never go there. Their pictures are just about all stolen from real brands, so what you get in the mail will look nothing like the picture.

They are banned from the main EGL live journal, here's why: http://egl.livejournal.com/14484905....read=309322665

No problem! If you do buy some lolita clothes and find a cheap site, I really encourage you to look through the list on the egl live journal of all the Milanoo sock-puppet websites before buying. They've realized that we're onto them and their bad quality so they've opened new websites with different names so they can keep selling that stuff.

If you're wanting more affordable lolita with decent quality, try Bodyline: http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/top.html

Milanoo is also blacklisted by the egl community for scamming, and trolling. Also. Google Milanoo Lolita nightmare
