Shana (Shakugan no Shana) Cosplay Pattern :( Help! T_T

Okay so I really want to cosplay Shana from Shakugan no Shana in this convention that is going to be held in a little more than a month, and I ordered the cosplay but they won't be able to ship it in time for some reason, so now I'm sort of freaking out because I have no idea where to find a cosplay pattern, and I have a friend that's good in sewing that's willing to help me but yeah, gotta find patterns u_u'
Problem is I dunno where to look as I don't usually make my cosplays
So if anyone can help me out here I would be forever grateful ! x__x
Thankyou ! XD

Your doing the school uniform version of her right? If so I'm sure pictures references would help but I don't know anything about patterns

well like I said, I don't really know about patterns but I know for me when it comes to getting reference pics and stuff if they don't have a draw up(which I'm sure for shana they might) I usually resort to getting screenshots from the anime itself.

Big fabric stores usually sell sewing patterns as well. Shana's uniform isn't too far out of this world, the only problem I think would be the sailor collar. It's not a very popular type of collar in the west, so you you might have to look at some patterns meant for costumes (like maybe a sailor costume?). If your friend also knows a little about pattern making/altering, you could combine different patterns to get what you want.

Yeah that's a good idea, I'll have to ask her though as I don't know if she is capable of doing this or not as I know that she knows how to sew a lot of things but yeah not sure on that one xD I'll have a look at the stores but it's too bad there's no specific site for cosplay sewing patterns T_T

If your friend is comfortable drafting patterns, this video will help with the shirt:

and this video will help with the skirt:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1yBe...eature=related

Otherwise looking into modifying patterns. Cheerleading pattterns could be close to what you're looking for. At the very least, that video will show you how to make the collar on the shirt. The skirt is usually just a basic pleated skirt, which again could be modified from a cheerleading skirt pattern.

Here are some links to possible patterns:
Cheerleading outfit http://compare.ebay.com/like/170708446527?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&va r=sbar
Pleated skirt pattern (shorten as needed) http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/...pleated-skirts
Collar: http://www.ehow.com/how_5084978_make-sailor-collar.html
McCall's sailor shirt pattern (out of print) dirt cheap here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/88086197...n-sailor-shirt

And here is an old thread dedicated to this:
http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=117485

Good luck. PM me if you have questions on how to draft patterns.

Yes, have your friend look for patterns for cheerleading outfits. If she's not used to working from patterns, it might help her to read this first, too: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=242887

I was thinking about cosplaying as Shana for my first time at Anime Boston next year. Any suggestions of types of fabric to use for her uniform? I was also thinking about making her jacket too in case its cold. Any ideas for that? New England weather can be unpredictable in May.

Thanks!
