Kotetsu Kaburagi's hat?
I have no idea where to find one of these! My cosplay budget is pretty tight (I already checked the thrift store!) so do you guys perhaps know where I can find that type of hat?
(I'm all up for modifying, so if it's just white, that's perfectly fine.) Also, what is it ACTUALLY called? I see so many different names for it, but I can't ask people if I don't know the type of hat? XD Thanks so much!

If you're willing to make one from scratch, you could try using this tutorial, but just make it more... puffy at the front.

I haven't started looking for mine yet but I imagine it would be tough to find in thrift stores. Unless you got really lucky one day.
I've heard it alternately called a newsboy cap, a cabbie cap, and other terms like that. The last time I can remember seeing anyone wearing something similar in real life, it was a golfer. Try golf shops! Or you may have to look around historical clothing sites, either for the cap itself or a pattern, since it was generally all the rage in the late 1800's/early 1900's.

I've heard men's beret, golf cap, newsboy cap, and Gastby cap. It's actually pretty hard to find a plain white one in stores. Here's a tutorial someone linked in the T&B forums: http://aboutgoodness.com/mens-flat-c...-diy-tutorial/

Gatsby hat...there's a start for a search term.
The tutorial is the closest thing I've seen but I'm picky - Kotetsu's cap actually has more volume (poof) up front, whereas the one in the tutorial is very flat and flush to the brim. And it looks from a quick skimming that it's the shape of the pattern pieces that cause it to do that. I'm going to keep searching using that name for a better pattern myself. ...or redraft the tutorial pattern to include more front volume. XD However, this is good for a quick and dirty! Thanks!

Yes, that's the only pattern that comes up when you google ivy caps/gatsby hats/any of the other names. I have it, I used it for my prototype, and it's all wrong for Kotetsu. Kotetsu's hat has a brim band around the side/back (where the metal adjustment clips are seen) and the Ivy Cap pattern does not. Also, it doesn't have enough loft and volume in the front to account for the large amount of poof Kotetsu's hat has.
I'm on my third prototype and getting close - I did start with the above pattern, though. It's a good start, but a lot of adjustments have to be made to get it accurate. Not for the faint of heart.
