First...your costumes all look AWESOME!!!

I was thinking of doing the same Emma Swan outfit (w/the red jacket)...would that be bad? This is my first Dragon*Con, so I am not completely sure how everything works!

Is there a final time decided for a meetup on Fri or Sat.?

NO It would be the opposite of bad There's at least one other Emma cosplayer with the same outfit going to the meetup, so if you see me around, let's take pictures together! I did a detailed costume breakdown of the outfit if you need it!

I agree, I would like firmer plans. I think we need a Plan B for the people who don't want to go to the dinner (or can't) but still want photos with everyone.

Perhaps we can come up with a dedicated time and place to meet up and then the rest of the group can meet us when they're done eating? For instance, what if the non-dinner people just gather near the High Velocity bar at the Marriott around 7? That gives the dinner people enough time to maybe start finishing up (because I know how hard it is to get big groups of people organized for meals, so they'll need some time) and then at least we'll all be in the same spot?

I'm thinking to the left of the bar entrance (if you're facing it) where there is a wall of like wine racks behind glass. It's off to the side enough that we shouldn't be bothering anyone.

Thoughts? Feelings? I just really don't want to miss the gathering.

P.S. I'm gonna post about this idea over on the FB community, too...

OK, there seems to be a positive response over on FB from the people who don't know if they can make the dinner. So it looks like we're going to shoot for 7 outside of High Velocity, and the dinner people can make their way over there after the meal and then we can ALL meet up. Sound good?

Haha, I also posted on the FB group - I think my friends and I are shooting for just socializing and snacking at 5:30 with the dinner folks and then lurking around afterwards for pictures. What are we doing at 7PM outside of High Velocity, pictures? We have a BSG party to get to later that we have to change costumes for, but that's not until later.

Stephanie, Laura and I will be hanging around Saturday night in the Marriott people-watching in our Ruby, Emma and Granny costumes, too, so if you spot us, feel free to say hello

The idea is just to be in one spot so that EVERYONE has the chance to meet up for pictures! So yeah, I think 7:00 was what we were shooting for as picture time. I'm trying to figure out if I know any photographers who are going. I may have to sweet-talk one of my roommates into coming down and taking pics on my camera. Shouldn't be too hard, since they also watch the show.

Because the original idea was "meet at this time for dinner with pics to follow" and that was incredibly vague. So having an actual TIME (and people are always early/late at their leisure, anyway) seemed like a better plan for some people.

And now people seem to want to keep the original 5:30 meeting time and take photos FIRST and then all interested parties who want to do dinner can split off and do that!

It looks like people are overwhelmingly in favor of meeting for pictures first, then dinner, thank goodness! 5:30 for pictures, then dinner works for us

Yeah, I think that would probably work best for everyone... fewer makeup touch-ups and it lets those attend who can take pics but not eat in costume. Win-win all around!

Nova is coming along, though my fabric layering for the top of her dress didn't turn out looking quite like I'd hoped. >_< At this point, I don't have time to re-do it, so it won't be terribly screen-accurate. But it IS sparkly. I'm using a glitter lace and my whole house looks like some sort of fairy massacre took place. I'm going to have to pack the costume inside a garbage bag so it doesn't shed glitter all over my other costumes in the suitcase, lol!

I'm hoping to have Nova completed this weekend so I can take a few pics then!

So, Facebook is a piece of shit and just disabled everyone's cosplay pages today. Which is like almost everyone I know, and myself. So I just had to rejoin the group under my regular Facebook.

I mad.

Oh, and every post I've ever made to the group is gone. Lovely.

At threestories' request, I'll be there on Sunday to take photos. In addition to the big group shots, I'll have my lights and lovely assistant (and maaayyybe my black backdrop) so I'll be prepared to do individuals and small groups.

I'm not super familiar with the show/lore/characters (though my wife is) so I won't be so good at directing your posing. Please think about your poses in advance for the individual portraits; dramatic poses make for dramatic photos, and we'll need to move things along a little quickly so that everyone gets a chance And, if you're not good at posing yourself, I can happily guide and direct with some generic pose types that work well for many characters.
