C.C.-Code Geass R2 Boots Help

I'm planning on cosplaying as C.C. and I need some help with the shoes.

Pictures:

I know that I want to have boots that have pretty high heals (4"). I'm cosplaying with a friend who is going to be Lelouch, and he is over a foot taller then I am so I need a way to bridging the high gap a bit. Now my question is would it be better to buy a pair of white thigh high high-healed boots and paint the designs on, or to buy a pair of base shoes and then make boot covers to go over them?

Whatever fits within your budget easier, really. Thigh-high boots can run a little, well. High. You probably won't be able to completely bridge the height gap between yourself and your Lelouch, but you might consider some platforms.

Depending on how focused you are on detail, I might recommend using boot covers, because they're easier to just applique the gold bits onto, and you'd be able to get that nice sturdy point at the top of the thigh. If that amount of detail isn't a priority, then standard stretchy thigh-highs might be fine (with the gold parts painted on)

I agree! What fits into your budget, but also what would you be more comfortable in (how stable are you in 4in heels), as well as can you make a decent boot cover?

purplevix pretty much covered it.

Weeeeel I don't necessarily have the best ideas but....

Get any pair of white boots, then get a piece of white cloth and wrap it around your legs and stick it in your boots. Might work if you do it carefully, dunno.

I ended up making boot covers and putting them over a pair of white heals and they look amazing!! There are pictures in my gallery if you want to check them out.

Those boot covers turned out great! What material did you use?

Thank you. ^^ I used four-way stretch spandex. I found this tutorial http://crashcult.blogspot.com/2010/1...-tutorial.html and I pretty much followed the instructions in it. They were pretty easy to follow and it was my first time using spandex so having the tutorial was very helpful.

I did deviate a bit and I had my mom help my pin the spandex as I stood on my kitchen table because it made things easier and allowed for more precision. One other thing that I did differently was make one pattern and use it for both feet, instead of making a separate pattern for each foot.

Thanks for the quick response! That tutorial looks really helpful, if a little intense. I guess I had better get to work!

The tutorial wasn't too bad and I found that some of the information could just be ignored or that it didn't pertain to using spandex. If you have any questions about it I will do my very best to answer them.
