I've been trying to do a Noel [or Jin] cosplay since Calamity trigger came out. >< The only thing keeping me from doing so can hopefully be answered here.
Whats the best way to make Noel's dress, the collar part has me the most confused. How it conects to the dress, and how to go about either a] drafting the pattern, or b] modifying and existing one. Are there any hints or tutorials out there? Pictures would be prefered, or just an indepth explanation. :} This whole general section kind of confuses me. Would you used bias tape for the slightly bolder black color? Ref: http://i40.tinypic.com/e8mnpz.png

-------------------------------------------------- I'm currently working on a basic/original color Hazama costume I've found some patterns for the coat/vest I can use as a base (haven't modified them yet) but I'm not sure what fabric to use, I'm thinking Twill or maybe Denim the coat pattern also mentions tweed. Ideally I want them to match so the same fabric for both is my goal. I'd like them to be comfortable/fashionable (I "think" twill would work more for this but I don't know) aside from the costume so that I get as much use out of them. Anyone more familiar with these fabrics have any advice or input?

I know the Punky wig is highly recommended for Ragna but are there any issues with the length for the bangs? His bangs easily go past the eyes but i have a relatively big head so some wig bangs would appear shorter on me. I'm looking for a spiky wig with bangs that preferably ends at the nose or mouth.
I used a Kakashi wig i got off Taobao which had enough length for his bangs but the back seems a bit short for him. I'm planning for his black variant next. Said wig styled I also debut my Ragna over the weekend, still looking out for better con pictures. http://www.cosplay.com/costume/415812/

EndThisRapture: I made mine from scratch but I'll tell you what I did. The chest area I have a panel that goes up like a halter that I strap with a clear bra strap. The collar is pretty much a separate piece that is sewn down in place on one end and a clasp on the other so I can wrap it around the neck. As for the bias tape part you're talking about, that is possible to use bias tape; I just made strips of fabric that matched the rest of the dress. Hope this helps (although it's been months now @_@ I hope you check back).

That scythe is amazing by the way. I always wanted to do Ragna someday, but I'd want to light it up with LEDs. Oh and I'd thought to throw this here for good measure.

Just popping in to say that I'm almost done with my Alt. colors (Blue and White) Makoto cosplay! And I rigged up an awesome harness so that nothing's chocking me like other Makotos had to deal with :3

Amane is such a pretty trap <3
If he had kept his legs underneath all that fabric instead of showing them, i would attempt his costume :< I will be upgrading my Ragna to CP variant, i see some detail changes.

Attempting Imperator in the near future!! (FREED FROM RAGNA!) My problem is the headpiece...
Judging from the concept art, it looks like her hair pins are holding the loop up which i find is physically impossible to balance. Would concealing a clip behind the front plate help or would "stabbing" a transparent support into the ponytail be feasible? http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...work,_1%29.jpg

I think adding two clips on either side behind the front would definitely work, especially if you use a lightweight material. :O Like these things: http://www.okokchina.com/Files/upimg...ber_484395.jpg But it all comes down the how heavy the crown thingy is. XD
I'm currently in the process of making Makoto, wondering how I'm going to attach the tail to my body while still doing it realistically... I've figured out the support though. XD And I'm wondering how to do her weapons. I've got the circle down, but I'm thinking, is there a better way to doing it than finding two crosses and using air dry clay to form the tips?

I'm going to be cosplaying Taokaka at Denver Comic Con and NDK '13, and I just have to wonder....
how the hell do you move around with those sleeves? I plan on sewing the backside of the sleeves with a slit, like the back of an envelope pillowcase, so I can get my arms out. But honestly, taokaka cosplayers, TELL ME YOUR SECRETS.
