Greetings from Beautiful British Columbia

Hi everyone! I've just recently started to get into some cosplay after deciding to start throwing geeky costume parties for my friends. It started with a simple Jedi costume for May the Fourth. I enjoyed making it so much that I've started to get into garment sewing. We just had our 2nd party which was a 'live long and prosper' Star Trek theme party for which I made an original series minidress for myself and a captain's shirt for my husband.

I'm looking forward to the next costume project already (though I don't know what exactly it will be) and would one day like to go to attend a con in costume.

Hi! Welcome, from another Canadian. (Though I'm in Ontario)

yay for Sci-fi themed parties! I recently had a great Star Trek party which was declared potluck and we had some Romulan ale, Klingon bloodwine, and some gagh.

The food was the only thing that wasn't entirely on theme for our party. It was potluck too, though we supplied sandwiches, veggies, Romulsn Ale, Saurian Brandy, & Rootbeer. Three of our guests brought fruit platters so we ended up with lots of leftovers! I'd love to have made some Gagh but most of my time was taken up making props for the photo booth (Vulcan ears, tribbles, visor, & a phase rifle). But there's always next year.

Yes keep collecting things for that lol

I want the $300 phase rifle kit from roddenberry.com SO BAD. But I can't justify it.

Hey Dizzy,

I just read your post on the horrible service they gave you at the Choice Hotel. I was so dissapointed and angry that someone would treat visitors that way. Thanks for writing that post, it now makes me want to never go to those hotels. Do you have any bad experiences in Canada from those hotels? Anyway I will probably stay away from any Choice Hotels after reading your post
