is this lolita or just normal?
I have just went to a store and got a shirt for a lolita outfit for a convention I am going to and I was wondering if it is in fact a lolita shirt. The fabric is not stretchy and has almost a satan felling to it. From what i understand it fits but because this is my first ever outfit I just want to check before I go out and do it all wrong! Hears a few pictures of it https://mail-attachment.googleuserco...afwA4&sadssc=1 and https://mail-attachment.googleuserco...1XF-1O5-_uCrRM
I will iron it but I cant because my mom is ironing all her stuff.. Thank you a lot for the help!

You might want to upload those photos on ImageShack or PhotoBucket, because the links aren't working.

it CAN be, but you have to be very careful going sleeveless with lolita. for a country coord i feel it would work, or casual, but that is about it

I was trying to go for a gothic black and white look. if i wore a sweeter then would it work? Or would it be better if I try to make the shirt have sleeves?

I'd say this could only really work for casual. Having no sleeves is a major no-no in lolita, that's why most girls wear sleeved blouses under jumperskirts unless the weather is too hot. No matter which style, it's important to have your shoulders covered.
On a side note, if you wanted to layer a cardigan over it for an outfit with a skirt that could work. It could be a good base blouse to put the cardigan over.

Oh no, please don't add lace. Adding lace will be too much for that top. It looks just fine to me.

I think it's adorable. I would add some shor cap sleeves but anything to long, and it just wouldn't be as cute as short sleeves, in my opinion.

That would be better suited to Aristocrat, actually, especially if you wear a jacket or something over it.

I think it looks just fine the way it is! Really great find - I've actually been looking for something like that myself! I would personally pair it with a simple black high waist skirt and maybe add a rosary for a gothic/classic look, for sure but like another has said it would look awesome for Aristo as well.
If its hot where you are I would say not to worry about wearing anything over it since its modest enough as is with the high collar. Course you can coordinate it with a cardigan or bolero if you feel uncomfortable. Last edited by lolita*neko : 09-12-2012 at 03:28 PM. |
