Alice from Mad T Party at Disneyland

Hi, I am helping my friend create the Alice from Disney California Adventure's Mad T Party.

We're looking for pieces to start. I was looking into skirts and tutus to start with, but neither of us have much sewing experience. I'm not afraid to do small alterations, but I don't have a lot of skill in that area.

My biggest issue would be making/finding the skirt, and finding a jacket/corset to use. If anyone could help or has any links (I've scoured etsy) I would be very grateful. Here are some images to those that don't know this Alice.

Awesome costume but not very beginner friendly. The fabric is mostly organza (all the blue sheer shiny bits). You might have some luck scouring thrift stores looking for old prom dresses with ruffled skirts that you can chop up.

Ya.... As penlowe said its not beginner friendly at all...... I'd really recommend that u buy a dress and alter (add a corset underneath and see to it or Wat not). I will tell u this tho, if ur planning on wearing it to Disneyland u won't e allowed in if it looks similar to the real dress....

Yea. It will be a fun project. We both work at Disneyland, so believe me, we aren't interested in going to join the party. I was thinking we could find a corset and sew the sleeves on pretty easily. Then find a similar, but not identical skirt (or make one).

The hard thing is about seeing onto a corset is that if u have to tighten it u can't see to it. I'd prob make it in multiple pieces.
