Been working on a few items here and there as I get ready for NYCC, wanted to post here and see what you guys think about what Ive gotten so far. For my suit Im going with a mix of various styles from different artists and hoping that its still instantly recognizable.

I really liked the look of the belt in the first pic so I set out to design one that looked liek that but still had its own individuality.

This is what I have so far. After I took the pic I realized it was upside down. Ill be adding more dark and light gold to the final paintjob and will hopefully finish it in the next couple of days.

I also really wanted to add armored plate look to the boots and also tie it in with the bracers he wears in the fourth pic so this is what I came up with.

I started with these (got them for 10 bucks at a K-mart that was going out of business) Theyre black leather biker boots.



Then I fabricated the "metal" plates out of foamies and added them to the boots.



and here.You can also see where I painted the buckles a couple different colors of yellow and golds so it would pop in just about any light.

I still wasnt happy with the boots.When I put them on with a spandex undersuit they just seemed too short so I came up with this.





Heres with the final coat of black and about to add gold details.

and finally where I'm at right now. I added a gold outline to the boots (that i need to go over again) and temporarily painted in the gold x-men symbol. Im either going to cut that piece out of foam so its 3-d or Im going to cut the foam itself and use a pen to scribe the circle area.



Which one do you guys think will look better and what do you think of the boots so far? I'll be listening to everyones comments and posting pics as I get things finished. Thanks in advance for the help.

I can't wait to see more of this. I like the insignia you're putting on the boots, nothing wrong with adding things in and making the overall design your own.

Work is still progressing albeit slowly. Will take some more pics when I have something to show you guys. I worked on the X-men chest emblem last night and also the other boot which is 90 percent constructed.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Va Comic-Con is tomorrow and Ive been working myself ragged to get this finished in time.

Did a full suit up tonight to see how it looks and also to help me organize a checklist of what I need to do to finish each individual piece off. Hope you like.

Oh I want to ask too..Did you think of using a wig maybe? I know you look great without one as him but maybe it will help until the hair grows out more..Right now it IS a little short for an amazing Logan-style hair-do.

Im gonna spike it up tomorrow.Found some awesome spiking glue that a friend with a mohawk recommended. I'll hopefully grab plenty of pics.
