Hi, I'm thinking of doing a cosplay next year with my first time using body paint other than my face. I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the different theatrical makeup brands and have read about their staying power/etc and I came across PAX. The character I plan to do looks like this: http://www.blogcdn.com/wow.joystiq.c...flsylvanas.jpg
It isn't a full body coverage (just what you see in the photo, back included), but the event I'll be attending is three days long and I generally always cosplay the whole weekend. I'm not sure if all my questions can be answered but I'll ask anyway xD.
I was just wondering a few things...
Where can I buy Pros-Aide the cheapest? Including shipping.
I realize yes it'll be expensive regardless, but I'm not really sure where the best places are to buy these sorts of things online. Also, do I have to get the No-Tack version or can I get the original? I know you gotta powder it to remove the stickiness, but I wanted to make sure.
I know know KNOOOW it's not recommended because my skin has to breath, but would it last longer than a day or two with minor reapplications in case some has come off in areas that bend, etc?
I realize I'll probably have to reapply the third day but yeah :P
I have never had much of a skin problem with acne or dry skin, just sometimes acne in the past with my face that I usually can fix with makeup. I also don't have any sort of allergies. Maybe it's bad but even if I did end up having acne/dry skin and such afterwards I wouldn't really mind. I usually don't have too much of a problem getting rid of it and realize it was my own choice so I gotta deal with it XD. I Just want something that will stay for many hours.
I'm also unsure about how much I'll need to buy that would last cover waist up 2-3 times after mixing it with acrylic?
I'll be primarily just putting it in the locations where it shows on the reference photo, so not even my entire arm just the general location it shows. This also includes my back
How about contouring?
Would I have to mix some PAX on the side of a lighter or darker shade for this and paint it on manually? Or can I just powder it after with maybe a darker grey-blue and that would work as a contour?
How well does powdered makeup like eyeshadow work over it?
I have to put some black eye makeup over my eyes and wondered if I would maybe spray it with Final Seal or something to make it stay put?
Last, I'm wondering how to keep my lips colored a dark grey-blue/black for long term (Yes I realize I'll still have to reapply).
I read that if you do a mixture of around 75% PAX to acrylic this can work if you're careful. I have tried looking into other lipsticks and makeup (Primarily from homestuck resourses haha) but I'm pretty bad with keeping that stuff on because I have a bad habit of pressing my lips together too much. If I do end up going with PAX on my lips, how would I go about removing it...?
Which also leaves me the question... what is the best way to remove it?
I have read that Bond-Off, Super Solv, Agent X, and Isopropyl Myristate works but I don't know what's best xD.
Sorry I asked a lot of questions, I just don't want to put myself in any dilemma when it comes time for my convention! If you can't answer them all that would make sense, I ask a lot of questions xD Thanks
