Howdy,

I plan to cosplay Hatake Kakashi in November and can't decide as to whether or not I want to invest in sharingan contacts. Since Kakashi covers his sharingan eye most of the time, I'm not sure if it's worth buying the contacts or not.

Do you think it would be worth investing in the contacts to show every now and then throughout the day or just keep my eye covered?

If you have the funds for it, I'd say go ahead and buy the contacts. I always enjoy seeing cosplayers with the sharingan. Plus it'd be kinda irritating to have the mask over one eye all day, I'd think. Gives you a bit of a break? But if you can't afford it, don't worry about it. It's also cool to be normal Kakashi. Bring along a hentai book and sit in a tree, lol. (I saw a Kakashi doing this at Anime North this year, it was great.)

I am not getting the contact yet. Going to wait until my next eye appointment to get the correct size. I will most likely create the scar across my eye in case the headband slips enough to see it. I've made the book as well and have a couple kunai ordered. Figure the overall effect will be good without the contact. Unless they get close up, the contact doesn't show well in most people's photos anyway lol.

It's one of those little things that you can bring out every now and then just to make people go "squee!", just like the Make-Out Paradise book, or a Naruto cosplay with a Gama-chan wallet. And that's always fun to do. So, if you want to do that, and you've got the cash, I'd say go for it.
