I'm in the planning process of a Loki (Avengers) cosplay. The "formal" Loki not his armour.
http://www.film.com/wp-content/uploa...ngers-loki.jpg (reference for you guys )And I was thinking for a wig to slick back that is NOT a lace front would be this one here: http://arda-wigs.com/collections/malinda in black. I browsed through the gallery for that wig and it looks like it would be good for slicking back. However I am open to suggestions that are not lace front. One they are expensive, and two I'm afraid of messing up an expensive wig like that.

I think I need to chime in here a little and give a fair warning about that wig..
It is HUGE..Like I have to ewear Arda's wigs because they fit be best..But that wig is too big on me. Like I have a 23.5in head and I can still fit my hand in the wig when it's on. If you want arda's quality and one you can push back like that, I would go with the Jeteth Lacefront. It's basically the same thing. The big difference though, is that the Melinda is made in the back to spike up straight. If you lay it down the wefts show, so that's another reason it wouldn't work. Other lace front wigs from other companies would also be good to look at. I don't buy them because I can't afford them, so I can't really tell you where they sell them..Ebay is a good start though..You can also try epiccosplay.com they have a lot of good wigs.

Though it does seem standard that every Arda "specialty" wig will be way too large and you'll have to resize it if that bothers you. I would say that that's a good pick though ![]() |

Well I am going off the one I HAVE. It is styled like cloud strife, And the areas that are spiked are not showing wefts, but the back is slicked back and the wefts show. It's not a lot by any means, but they do still show.

Thanks everyone...the reason I'm so gung hoe about Arda is because I have extremely curly hair that is VERY thick. I usually have to get a hair cut before wearing a costume out(cons....Halloween) and about....which I really don't want to have to do constantly. Even after compressing my hair in a wig cap mast wigs are EXTREMLY tight on me (all the wigs that I have purchased from Amphigory are tight on me) So all in all that wig is good for Loki?

I don't know if their lacefront wigs have a mesh cap like their ponytail/pigtail wigs do, but if they don't, that alteration method will not work. It's similar, but not quite the same. I've messed up a wig trying to do that.
You'll want to just cut the elastic at the sides. Use a seam ripper to remove a couple of the wefts temporarily, cut off however much elastic you need to, sew up the space between, then sew the wefts back on.
