My story's pretty simple; it was my grandmother's middle name (the non-crazy one). I would have preferred my middle name to be my legal name, however.

I'm not sure why, but I was named after Mandy from the series Dallas.. I think my parents once explained, but they kept confusing me, hah.

I could've been called Robin, boy or girl, but my dad really hated it. So I'm not sure what I would've been called if I had turned out to be a boy.

As far as I know, I'm Amber just because they thought it was pretty... My mother told me that my father almost named me Tiffany Marie. Turns out that was the name of his ex-girlfriend.

Apparently I was named after some lady my mom and dad knew. Exciting, I know XD

However, my parent's mixed some letters of their names together to name my older sister. So they were going to use the leftover letters of their names to name me, but then my name would have been "Robry" :P

My parents were dead set on naming me Stephanie after a movie in the 80s. Then my dad wanted to name me Jennifer. Pretty normal names if you ask me.

Then my mother and grandmother watched this Mexican soap opera. The girl had black hair, colored eyes and light skin. Her name was Yaritza. My grandmother and mother instantly fell in love with the name.

So when I was born, that's what my mother decided upon. Stephanie and Jennifer completely out the window. To make matters even more complicated, my mother was going to add Anna in front of my name so it would've been AnnaYaritza. My grandmother talked her out of that one.

So yep. That's the story behind my first name. It's unique just like me.

My parents decided that if I was a boy, my mother would choose my name, and vice versa. So my dad named me Alice Stephanie, and I really don't like it, I never do, it sounds so corny to me, I know so many Alices and Stephanies and I only want one name. I'm going to try to change it for Astrid, my favourite name since I was a child.

my mother loved the show 'Bewitched' and as a result, I am named Samantha. which is better then her alternative, Rio. I don't look like a Rio XD

My mom wanted to give me royal names and she picked two of them. So I suppose to have two names but idiots in hospital wrote only one. When my mom realized this mistake it was a bit late to change. Oh well.... ))
