as for sewing though, I can't say that I'm qualified to give advice lol..//really bad
but maybe break it down into the layers and do it one layer at a time

@beanpop: I know what you mean with the references! I just sort of pick one picture and just use it as a guideline, so it isn't the most accurate costume, haha ^^; Maybe finding consistent images will be easier once the anime comes out?

Just now finishing up Yamuraiha's robes.. waiting for the shells to dry before trying to rig them into a support harness. Silly mages having weightless everything~

I'm very excited to see other Magi cossers around. Are any of you going to Youmacon or Ramencon by any chance? For Ramen, we have a smallish group of Sinbad, Yamu, Sharrkan, and possibly a Masrur and Jafar.. I hope we can pull more people in!

Here's my first run with the robe and very loosely tied waist bit. Still need to iron is all and junk. Considering attempting to make her rod today..
Since I don't have very steady hands right now, I ended up satin stitching the collar.

hello everyone! i am doing a few cosplays from magi! so far i have pisti done but i also want to do morgiana.

i'm just wondering if you have any tips on what materials to use with those "ribbons" (?) on her leg and also the symbol on her dress? (the wooden thing..)

@neiro: I used some sort of string I found either at Joann's or Hobby Lobby and some fabric for the bottom of it and it turned out alright. I'm still trying to figure out how to make her necklace though.

@neiro: I would go with some kind of leather straps for the legs. Check tandy's online store for that sort of thing. For the necklace, the most common thing I've seen it made from is paperclay and copper foiling.
