So I have this wig, and it is styled in spikes and I am trying to attach a crown..I make the crown out of craft foam to be super light, and I added a barrette to it..But the barrette has nothing to clip to..So I have no idea what to do..

This is literally the ONLY pic I can find online. I know where to place it and everything but it keeps falling off because the hair slips out of the barrette. I wanted to try to get the barrette to clip to the area where the skin top stops at the top, but it isn't in the right area to be able to clip it.
Any ideas?
I don't want to sew it in if I don't have to..

Toupe clips are superior to barrettes.

They will be harder to keep in the wig though..I want to make it clip on because moving and running as such will keep it in where as those are more like a come you sew on..Cliping would keep it in place more then that wouldn't it?

Honestly, if you don't mind, you can use button snaps to attach the crown. It does require you poking a small hole in the wig mesh for each snap pair, but it stays pretty sturdy with two snaps. I think you're thinking of hair combs. Toupe clips have a comb but also snap closed just like a barrette, however due to the comb there is a LOT more hold.

I know you can get them at sallys and often times at asian beauty or wig supply stores.

Sally's sells them. I usually get them much cheaper off ebay for my wigs in bulk.

Also I sewed my crown on for my Red Queen wig with thread the same colour as my wig. I created 4 small holes spaced out equally at the bottom of the crown to sew through and tack stitch through the wig. For a larger crown I go with 5 of 6 wholes to sew down to the wig.

I'm gonna go buy them at sallys then. I would sew it, but I want it to be easily removable when I don't want to use it..

So, watched this thing on the Miss America pageant a number of years ago, mostly for the dresses. The 'everyday' (Travel version) crown has an X of elastic inside the circle to give it a lot more anchor points. The new MA was switching out the elastic on the crown from white to black to disappear into her hair better.

It's a spiked wig with a crown, and one of the spikes is inside the crown..

If the crown is craft foam you might want to try gluing hidden loops of ribbon on the insides and pinning bobby pins into them and the wigs hair to just pin in it. I've done that for a few craft foam hair accessories and it's always worked out rather well!
The best part is since the loops are on the inside of the crown no one will ever see the pins either!
